  1. What would you have preferred he said?
  2. Good god. Did you use the xgrind ring to fix that? Or just a ton of regular ring passes?
  3. I actually had that exact same issue with my mako 1s immediately when I got them. The edge of the tongue was right at the tip of the toe cap and my big toe would rub on it. I actually ended up fixing this by putting a piece of gaffers tape on the inside of the toe box. Kind of a hack, but it solved the issue and it hasn't come out since. On top of that, I actually completely forgot it was even there until now.
  4. Huh, so apparently the accent colour pieces are just glued on...
  5. So this was my night last night... This guy decided to be a hero for the scouts in the stands with the game already out of reach. I didn't even try to stop the second one. Idiot winds up for a slapped from the slot up 8-4. The third was him crashing the net before saying "AW YEA NATURAL HAT TRICK". First goal against was from about their goal line that ended up being on goal. I tried to just knock it a couple feet away from the net so my D could pick it up, and just... missed it. Second goal was a shot that was wide of the net and (apparently, as I didn't see what happened) our D put his stick out to try to keep it from going out in front after hitting the board behind the net... and put it right in. In the second period they scored on an off-side. They had a guy in the slot, we get the puck out to center and their guy passes it back to the guy still in our zone... in alone, scores. Ref says he didn't see anyone off-side. Maybe if you were anywhere remotely near the blue line, you might have! Just one of those games, I guess. I deleted the GoPro footage before I even left the ice.
  6. Completely agree. I'm definitely the exception, not the rule. Stay in school, kids.
  7. I never did homework, period. My personal rule was "if it doesnt get done in class, then it doesnt get done". Sometimes not an issue as for something like math I'd just do it all while the teacher was rambling. I'd usually ace the exams though. Since the weighting for exams was always higher than for homework, I'd pass with a grade in the 70s typically. But then half way through the semester I'd lose interest and just stop going. I failed 12th grade English three times because I just didn't like going. I loved highschool, except for the class part. I loved hanging out with friends playing euchre in the cafeteria. I'm currently 12th grade english + 1 other credit shy of a highschool diploma.
  8. I didn't finish high school at all.
  9. I used to use superfeet but honestly I haven't needed to with VH. I wonder if it's because it fits your foot so well you don't need the plastic supports under the heel to cradle your heel? I have no idea. Either way feel free to specify and they will recommend an adjustment if necessary.
  10. I mean, if that's the case that's cool. I'm surprised they aren't worried above losing existing tacks fans by having a completely different fit in the new version.
  11. Congrats on starting one of the biggest threads of all time on MSH! EDIT: 7th largest thread ever. Only the Show it Off, FBV, eBay Idiot, and three years worth of gear sightings threads are larger!
  12. My 8.5D Makos were 272 (just checked my email for confirmation from the last time I purchased runners)
  13. The size for your runner is stamped on the holder. If you dont like the pitch you can have your existing runners profiled slightly negative. I did that, combined with a larger radius profile, and that helped a lot. Just changing steel isn't going to help the pitch at all (though I'd still recommend going Step just because it's better.)
  14. I just merged your post into a previous broken ankle thread. I'd suggest you read through the rest of it. I just got through the experience (luckily no plates!) and happy to answer questions.
  15. I mean, I guess if having your R&D team decide to sit on their hands year after year, then sure. They're awesome.
  16. Played pickup for the first time since October. I get up for work at 5am at my new job so getting home at midnight and being unable to sleep for an hour or two isn't a good thing. But with no league hockey the last two weekends I wanted to get in a tune-up before spring league starts up this weekend. Things went moderately well until my lower back started acting up. I was using a new stick that I bought solely for the paint scheme thinking I could adjust to it despite it being a few inches shorter than what I usually use. I was wrong. A couple good saves, a couple boneheaded plays. All in all a decent enough night I guess.
  17. That's actually a good point. They tend to do a lot of backstory filling out in the crawls, so it wouldn't surprise me if they just went with the easiest route possible.
  18. I got my case! Pelican iM2200 fits perfectly. The case comes with a couple layers of pick and pluck foam since it's a 6" (ID) case. I'm using the middle layer to hold things like a couple extra sets of steel, and various other accessories like screws and a screwdriver, mask bits and bobs, etc. Here's what I've done so far:
  19. Give it a shot. I didn't wear socks either until I got my Passau knee pads and they'd get caught up in my knee cradle. Shouldn't actually be an issue anymore now that I have different pads, but I'm used to socks now. There was actually a time where I cut off the bottom half of a pair of plain black reebok socks and wore those over my knee pads. I figured cutting off the bottom would satisfy my desire to not wear socks but still cover my knee pads. But then when I got on a full time team I started wearing full socks and honestly don't even notice.
