Hmm. You selected your holder size? I don't think I was ever asked what size I wanted. They just gave me what fit my boot. -

If they're that far off I'd just be asking for a new pair to be made. I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much. His situation is very much an anomaly. -
Haha its only about 6" diameter. That would have been funny though.

Got my accessory tray and cross grind ring today. Edge checker on the way. Thanks @stevebalchunas you're a beauty. Now I just need a case to put it in, and of course another ring and the blade holder to fill up the tray ;) -
Assuming you mean HAL straps...

Yea we started calling it Jobu. A few of us prayed to it. Haha. It was made by a street vendor in Mexico while some of my teammates were down there last week. Amazing.

I had a shutout in our league semi-final game, 3-0. This was in the locker room before and during the game.

Weight gain. I finally put batteries back in my scale. Oh my god. Can you tell where I stopped working out and eating well? Heartbreaking.
-
That's not something I care about. Maybe so. But I figured I have the whole setup already, might as well.
-
I just ordered the Sparx edge checker now that it's finally out. Might as well stick with their stuff, right? They had a Black Friday sale too.

Just make sure you're running through the alignment process after you physically transport the machine. I assume you already know to do that, but figured I'd mention it just in case. -
Totally understand. I'm going to be a mess for quite a while if any of my kitties died.
-
I agree but I sure tried!
-
Well, I figured that was a given.

Tim. Hortons. Overload.

I had the same problem. Pressure on the sides of my head, above the ears. I was in a CCM v10, tried on a warrior Krown and liked it and was going to buy it until I tried a Bauer dealt. So that's what I'm in now. I didn't think it could get better, but the new CCM resistance helmets are by far the most comfortable helmet I've ever tried on. If I still skated out, I'd have one. Since I don't, i just can't justify it.

Southwest Air in San Diego went to the horrible DIY kiosk check-in, similar to what AA has. So now instead of waiting in one line, you get to wait in two. At least with AA the kiosks are in a row. At the Southwest check-in they're all staggered so everyone is tripping all over each other the whole time. What a clusterf*ck! And of course the kiosks can't accommodate the "hockey bag plus sticks count as one item" thing so I had to just print my two tags. Get to the counter to drop off the bags and tell the woman I need another tag printed. She tries to make me pay $75 for the "extra" bag. Argued with her for a few minutes until she called over her supervisor to tell her I'm correct. I really do not miss travel one bit. This is the first time I've been on a plane since I broke my ankle and switched jobs while in a cast. Ecstatic that my destination is Winterfest, but man... I do not miss doing this one bit.

That's good to know that the "I've been doing this for decades" thing isn't as important as those people imply ;) (yes I'm trolling) -

Better as far as end result? That depends on your abilities. You should probably expect some pretty bad sharpenings for the first few months at least, which is totally fine if you're willing to put in the time. Much much longer to master it. Its also clearly more expensive. I mean, it's unlikely at the $899 price tag plus $50 for 40 sharpenings that you'll ever make up for the $7-8 per sharpen you get locally. So let's be real here... you buy this machine because a) you aren't interested in learning how to use a traditional machine and b) because you don't have somebody who is convenient/inexpensive/competent near you. If A and B apply to you, congrats, you're the target audience. If you have either A or B, then just stick to those. -

Agreed, if I hadn't got the kickstarter price I'm not sure I could justify it. At the kickstarter price it was a no-brainer. -

Same as I've already said... if you have a guy who is convenient, affordable, and does a good job I'd suggest the Sparx guys would likely be the first to tell you to stick with them. -
