Just like anything else in life: issues aren't what matters to me, it's if/how those issues are handled. I have full confidence in Sparx support, especially based on some of the PMs and emails I've exchanged with them.

Forced password changes. No more secure (in fact, they're often less secure), but annoying as hell.

Well that was a not-so-fun experiment. Playing goal while very sick. Most of my team bailed tonight, too. But I can't because I'm the only one with pads ;) Or else I definitely would have! Anyway, luckily I didn't puke, or start coughing. However I did get very warm. But the worst part was my complete inability to track the puck. Up close I was fine and made more than a few good saves. But first goal of the game was a shot from the blue line, going wide, and I tried to just poke it into the corner so it wouldn't go behind the net. Hit the heel of my stick and went in. Every single distance shot they took I would lose immediately even with no traffic. Like I'd see it leave the stick and then it was GONE. Like I was half a second behind everything the whole game. It was ugly. Ended up losing 8-5 with two empty net goals. We did well offensively, but the goaltending and D was atrocious. Considering three of us were playing sick I guess the result wasn't surprising. Just frustrating and embarrassing when the other team keeps taking slap shots from centre because they think you suck at them. Especially when they're right... Im skipping pickup this Tuesday. I need a couple nights of good sleep.

I was confused when you said smoking... thinking "WTF it's 2017..." but then you mentioned the "getting high" part. Is that what kids are by default referring to as "smoking" these days? I'm clearly getting old. Get off my lawn.

There are no "kinks" as far as I've seen, at least in this thread. If you want one, go ahead and get one.

Yup. On our trip to Canada we were excited to do some shopping because of the exchange rate. Until we saw how jacked up the prices were in comparison, to the point where it would have actually been cheaper to just buy it in the US. Okay then, never mind...

Righting a wrong :) Worst thing about MY game, the "player of the game" belt was with a guy who didn't show up - a violation punishable by being on beer duty the next week! So I didn't get it :(

And I follow up that great game with this crap performance. I haven't posted a video in here in a while because honestly I don't think anyone actually gives a crap.. but whatever. I was extremely sick, as was many of the regulars for this pickup... all of whom said they couldn't make it because they were sick too. We had 2 on our bench. The kick at 3:10 caused pain to shoot up my left side, followed by back pain and tightness for the rest of the night. Crazy what trying to flex areas that aren't flexible will do to your back...

None of that matters if the scoreboard still says 0 at the end of the game :)

Had the best game of my life last night, which is funny because I strongly considered asking the captain to find a sub because I was so sick. Tracked everything well, moved well, made stops through traffic. Early in the first period I made a goal line glove save off a guy who was left alone in front. Late in the second period I made a blocker save on a shot that I lost almost immediately because of the number of bodies. I had picked it up off his stick just as he shot it and was able to track it for just long enough to stick my arm out. Lots of other pretty good saves in there as well. I wish I'd had the gopro up! Ended up winning 8-1. Unfortunately it's kind of an empty win because the other team had a goalie who had played roller but this was his first time playing ice. I felt pretty bad for him, though he was pretty decent, all things considered. He got some stick taps from me on more than one occasion when he made a big save. However at the same time, while this used to be our rival team (Dead Deer) they have turned over quite a bit and that rivalry isn't really there anymore. But they had this one dude I don't remember seeing before that went after our guys TWICE in the game. The first one I don't know what happened (didn't see the original play) but he lost his mind about our D spearing him (yeah, probably not...) and the second time was on a legit penalty where our guy interfered/tripped him and he went ballistic as a result. Normally in an 8-1 win you just feel kind of bad and keep the cheering to a minimum, etc. But then this guy acted like this (all late in the 3rd period) so that kind of changed the feelings on our bench for sure. The 1 goal to break the shutout was with about 6 minutes left. I had covered the puck against the post/side of the net and APPARENTLY it wasn't fully covered (not sure how the ref was able to determine that, considering where he was... in the far corner) and their guy dug it out and roofed it. I was pretty pissed at the ref but in a 6-1 game at the time there's no point in making a scene about it. It's my own fault for not being able to find it and make sure it was covered, I guess. We scored two more almost immediately so that took some of the sting away. Still... that's the second shutout I've been denied in my "career" on questionable calls. The first being my very first ever game in goal where we won 4-1 and the lone goal against was scored with their guy lying on top of me... Oh well. Onward!

What is there to laugh about? It's one of the best ways to ship sticks.

In my experience this is great if you're shipping USPS, but UPS wouldn't take my bubble wrapped sticks. But USPS is so much cheaper anyway it wasn't a problem.
