5-0 Shutout. But man, my feet and legs were so tired by the end. It's amazing how tired you get when you have absolutely zero adrenaline going.
-
I've been trying to get better at playing the puck but don't seem to be able to get anything on it. The old glove I had was much easier to get a good grip on the shaft but the new one I'm having difficulty with. I'd do anything to be able to do THIS:
-
Added warmup jacket and pants, and a pair of Bauer skate pants.
-
One of the nicest looking skates on the market
-
You going? I'd love to go but too far away!

😂

Same series, wrong model :P

Completely agree with everything you've said. This was the perfect storm of a situation. Easy dribbler to the net, game almost over, and "oh I'll just smother it" and then... shit. Stopping it with the stick and throwing it right back into the corner would have been a better option if it was going to be a dangerous play. But I seriously thought my skate was against the post and I was just going to smother it and be done with it. In the other cases I mentioned it's usually a scramble in front and I'm already down and the puck goes off a skate or a leg or something and I go to pounce to smother it. I'm really thinking this glove doesn't seal the ice with the palm section of the glove very well, but I need to get the glove out tonight at home and try it out a bit.
-
For your first point, yes absolutely agree. And you're right, my "covering technique" of just trying to smother needs work. Just something I need to work on... if I'm in a situation where I'm trying desperately to cover a puck, technique kind of goes out the window! As for your second point, I know exactly what you're talking about in terms of pad placement. It would also keep me from getting my skate blade jammed under the post ;) I haven't been able to figure out how to get my foot where it's supposed to go. There's no space between my toe bridge and the toe of my skate. I also don't have the flexibility to properly get into a RVH. Hell, I can't do the VH either. It's like I just don't bend that way. But I completely understand exactly what you're telling me. In this case I only dropped to cover it because it was late in the game and it was slow-moving. Covering it was the right play IMO, I just didn't have the pad in place and pulled away from the post because of my skate placement. Hell, I'd almost have been better off to have the FACE of the pad against the post (as long as I don't allow it to pull away as I turn to cover the puck). It was really just a couple things that all went wrong on the same play.
-
To be able to reach down to cover it I have to pull away from the post due to my lack of flexibility. This actually seems to happen to me more often than I'd like. I don't know how many times I thought I covered the puck and after the whistle I lift up my glove and the puck is actually under my body. I don't know of the palm side of the glove isn't sealing on the ice or what. I'm going to have to take a better look at why its happening. Now also consider that my left skate blade got jammed UNDER the post, so when I moved it twisted my ankle. I had difficulty walking Sunday night and all day Monday. Thankfully I had my lace-up brace from when I had a broken ankle. That actually helped a lot.

FYI: here's how to NOT cover a puck with a minute left in a tie game

It's definitely ugly. It was actually my wife's car we traded in for it and it was supposed to be hers, but I'll end up driving it because I'm the one that takes HOV lanes to/from work. Shes stick driving the Porsche I guess :P
-
Traded in a Mercedes Benz C400 for this yesterday. $300/mo smaller car payment $200/yr drop in insurance $150/mo drop in gas usage $180/mo drop in toll/HOV lane fees Add to that up-close parking almost everywhere, free "gas" while there, and I can charge it at work for free as well. I was really worried about my goalie bag not fitting, but no problem at all, so we can realistically get rid of the Volvo XC90 that we kept around JUST for hockey because it happens to be paid off already. This is a GRIT goalie bag with obviously plenty of space:

To be fair, that's a really nice looking jersey!

Netflix Live is the greatest April fools thing ever.

Yea I remember that happening a few times. Was never a big deal, usually just somebody trying to get out of class. Had the fire alarms pulled fairly often too. Those bomb threats aren't like today's bomb threats, though. Whole different world back then.

That warrants a lockdown these days?
-
LOL that's quite the jump!

Getting a 6-4 win is nice and all, but I'm even more happy to see my buddy Kyle play his first game back in about 8 months after a torn ACL and meniscus. He went down around the time I started walking again so we haven't been on the ice together in almost a year!

More like slightly less on your toes because you'll still have a forward pitch.

Flip or Flop can be depressing when you see them flip a 1200sq ft house and sell it for $800k in the area you already live in...
-
Flip or Flop. I can't stand the girl and the "problems" are so forced but I like the end results, usually. I hate any of the shows where they don't actually do renovations (I find shows like House Hunters generally a waste of time).

Wow, I got lucky a LOT on Tuesday night. This video is much longer than most of the other pickup videos (usually around 7 minutes, game videos are usually under 5) because there was just so much going on. But with some really good saves, along with some really lucky ones, I had a lot of adrenaline going and didn't feel tired the entire night. It was kind of fun "knowing" you'd make the save every time they entered the zone. Usually it's "get the puck out!" but on Tuesday it was very much "I can't wait for them to come back down the ice so I can stop them again". They scored 2-3 in the last 5 minutes though.

Indeed.
