Did you read the refs report? I'd ask for it. It would be interesting to see what they wrote down. Add, if you didn't and the league is USA Hockey sanctioned, make sure you double up with their insurance.

Tonight was the start of the Middle School Summer Hockey League. With the success of the HS League, they started a MS league a few years ago. Teams affiliate with the HS in their MS district. Eligible kids are going into 6th-7th-8th grade. It it was our first ever skate with these kids(daughter is going into 6th next year). Lost by a goal, but proud of my pup, who netted one, had a few other opportunities and late in the 1 goal game was put out on the PP line for the last 1:30 or so.

He referenced a television show that was around about 10 years ago and though around like 7 years, I never considered it popular. Side note, how I took his comment was that it's not the league, but the player. There are players that are going to do questionable stuff at every level & continue do it, regardless of the level they are in. I'll add that I think a lot of this stuff is related to who runs the league. In my experience, Rookie League is the least chippy of any of the leagues we have here. In fact, I'm not even sure it's close. I'm also under the impression that the guy that runs both the Rookie and D4 League here doesn't put up with much. That is not limited to boorish behavior(unruly physical play, verbal abuse of the refs ect), but the player that appears to be playing on a team/league far below their ability level and making that very clear on the ice.

Dental pain/issues are no friend. I have had a pretty good run, but for no rhyme or reason, I've been crushed the past 8 days. Debilitating pain, like laying in bed wanting to pull my tooth with pliers. WTF, I was just in for my 6 M checkup & given clean bill of health. BOOM, Antibotics and IBU(dumped me a bunch of junk, I'm good with IBU) have moved me to today. That said, got my first needed dose of Antibotics. Jinxed myself like 2 weeks ago saying, I'm 46 and never had to take an antibiotic. (Apparently my descent into decrepitude is jumping). Strange, my pain is more with infection pressure, than actual tooth pain now.

Bailed out of work to meet my daughter at the ballgame(our AAA Angels affiliate) for her schools ballpark day. Don't mind if we get a foul ball!

Sent the young pup & mom to Chicago for a tournament, played 9 holes in men's league, took tomorrow off and now having beers watching playoff hockey. Though I'd like to be in the Windy City, I'm going to get some chit done & bonus, skating with my son Sunday.

She's actually a 10U('05), tapes her own stick(too often for my liking, starting to get funky with her multicolor junk) for about year, picks her laces and been tying her skates for 3 years.... A different cat for sure, but a player, I let her do what she wants, it's her World....I just pay for it. You're right though & she's targeted regularly. Though, in reality, that would be happening regardless.

The Little One took the ice with the newly formed West Coast Lady Renegades for a practice game against a local boys team, in preparation for the Chi-Town Shuffle next week. They competed well, losing 3-1, but it was closer than that. GOAL!!!

Best dressed guy in the league. Those gloves are perfect.

Expected delivery late 2017....that's a LONG WAIT.

Finally, been a while since I needed new skates, just wanted to wait to see if paying extra for the new S series of Supreme skates was worth it or pick up some discounted older model. Any longer on the steel on those One100's and they would have started to sharpen the holders...

Won 1st round playoff game tonight. I was worried in the locker room before the game, only had 8 skaters and feeling "here we go again", we have been battling this all season. One game, 13 guys, the next 8-9. Felt much better when in warm ups, they had 5 skaters and it didn't get better for them. 5 guys, skated the entire game. No idea how they did it, I was dying with the short breaks I was getting. In the end, I am just glad we get another game(we were the lower seed). Oh...and got the word tonight my '05 made a 14U team a local organization is putting together(they don't currently field girls teams) to play in the Chi-Town Shuffle. Assuming we take that slot, it's going to be a pretty amazing experience, playing against some of the best 14U teams in the Country.

Fun stuff! Few things I enjoy more, than watching my kids compete. Good luck to him.

Took one shift to get the stink off my new EK60. Total grinder goal, 2nd rebound, little backhand flip, but I'll take it. Unfortunately, we gave up more than we scored. Win or lose, playing hockey is better than not playing hockey. Now I need to wind down and try to fall asleep....it's a work night....

What's going on?

Last couple weekends, getting into the transition. We really don't play with her soccer teams during hockey season(sneak in an indoor game here and there, probably 3 this year), but had a free weekend and friends in the town hosting, so jumped on the tournament. Not a bad showing in the soccer, first time on the grass since October. Top bracket, 1 goal allowed in 4 games, Champions! The hockey banner was meh, we ended up in a tourney we were far too good for. Never played in it before, just how that works I guess, but we won't be invited back.
