Tournament wins are fun! First of the Summer Season.

Sometimes a tie feels like a loss, but after netting the first goal, we found ourselves down 1-4 going into the 3rd. Said lets get them back one at a time. Finished regulation tied 4-4 and though we really had more than our fair share of opportunity in OT, couldn't net one. It was a fun game(really evenly matched teams), some games are more fun than others and tonight was solid. Twice had bouncing puck in front of an open net that I couldn't get a blade on....ugh! If I could get my hands to do what my head says, I'd actually be a hockey player. Fun night, the beer was cold after the game!

I said earlier in this post it was tough to get on the ice with my son. Recently we've been fortunate to get into(he's always been in, I've been invited) a private drop in every Sunday. If you ever have the opportunity to skate competatevily with a pup, you're winning. It's like skating with your best friend x 1,000,000. In this case, your best friend is x 1,000,000 better than you as well.

There was an unplanned purchase of a Traeger smoker at Costco today, though I've been eyeballing them for over a year. Then I finished the day drinking this, it was my grandfathers, been sitting for a few years in moms's cabinet. Both now passed & my sister and I said, "time to run that bottle". Good day, stories while we killed that brought tears to my eyes more than once. Sucks getting old and having to rest your loved ones, celebrate they were GREAT! (Bittersweet) Some would think odd, the "sweet spot", but having a good drink with family, remembering our loved ones and the stories, sweet....bittersweet, but sweet all the same.

Did someone say boating.....??? Just back from 5 days at Lake Powell! Didn't miss a game....

Awesome car, OR! Played 2 hours of drop in with the boy today...been doing it every Sunday, private that a guy's he knows runs. So much fun! Thinking I should start one up. Has everyone pay up front for a month, he rents the ice and we play. If I could get the numbers, it would be great skate & a sweet bump on my AMEX points!

Summer league starts today! Will be good to get back on the ice with the team.

Talent level of the U12-U14 girls travel teams tryout was impressive, more so the 14's. Assume a bunch of girls that aged out of 12's last year and jumping at 14's(only had 12's last year). Some new talent on the 12's as well. Impressed all the way around & awesome to see the girls jumping a bit here. Maybe this is due to the tryouts being the same weekend as the boys, but huge IMO, as opposed to prior years where it was months apart. Lot of girls here that just play with the boys, as opposed to doing both. My U10 crushed the boys day one tryout, which was just before(rest to make ice) and rolled through the girls(combined), legs had to be done. Fun night, love hockey! Watching the pups is awesome, the parents are great as well. COMMUNITY

A giant one. No big deal, they had the charge reversed immediately and I made an order elsewhere that will be at my door today(approx. 52 hours after I ordered, free shipping). I did end up paying a little more, but a different product. Then impulse bought 18 rolls of tape, wax x 2 and 2 practice jerseys... EDIT - For a timeline, ordered Monday the 4th, charged my AMEX Monday the 4th. Cancelled Tuesday the 5th, charge reversed Tuesday the 5th.

Just moved my kid into his first out of the house place/college house. It's as close to campus as you can get, next to a great bar, pizza place and a tailgate lot for football. I couldn't have dreamed a better location for his college housing, have to love teammates. Wonder how mom is going to deal with this....

Well this company charged my card, the transaction has been posted. They will need to reverse the charge, not release a hold. As far as the "amazing" ability to process orders, as I stated above, there are companies that appear to have no problem meeting these expectations.

Surprise!!! No shipping number, because the item is not in stock. 30ish hours after ordering, I get the call that the item they advertised in stock, was not. They couldn't get the logistics of knowing their inventory or getting an order shipped, but they sure can get my AMEX billed and have my money in their hand. They'd be happy to send a different item. Order cancelled. I may be asking too much, but appears that it's an expectation for me(wouldn't bother me so much I guess, if it wasn't) and if a company cannot achieve it, I'll shop elsewhere whenever possible.

Have my trip to Lake Powell planned and set(end of the month). So excited to get down there for some great time with family and friends. Let the Summer begin!!!!

Am I expecting too much? Why does it take over 24 hours to get a tracking # from a shop? With todays tech today, I think online vendors should have you a tracking number in no less than 12 hours. If the item was ordered before 11:00 AM local time, that item should ship that day. Because of this, I RARELY venture outside of vendors that I know can accomplish it without missing a beat. But there always comes something that I want/need & can't get at my regular shops. At these times, I am reminded of what I considered unacceptable customer service.

It's not often I get to play competitively with my son, but he was able to join me at a drop in tonight. So much fun & his on the bench coaching me is awesome. Every shift, has what I did in his head, tells me good and needs improvement stuff. Double bonus when the guy that runs the skate told me my son was a great kid, didn't act like an asshat out there(apparently have that issue with young pups regularly) & welcome anytime. Anyway....good night, fun night.

Enjoy weddings so much, have had a few of them.... My advice, it's your wife's day, let her have the wedding she wants. Guys don't grow up thinking about their wedding day. Unless the request(s) is just batchit crazy, just say yes and smile.

Couple solid hours of drop in, now it don't even feel bad about how much I'm going to eat and drink tonight! Meat is on the grill and bourbon in my glass.

My son wants to check out a couple different kick points at the same time, so took this delivery today.

After about 100 minutes of hockey tonight, 3 periods and 6 over times, my son buried a slap shot to win the Championship for his beer league team. Fun stuff!

Last game of the travel season for the boys, everyone had a 'stache to put on, if they wanted. Sort of a tradition(did it last year as well). My daughter had one on for a few minutes, but said it distracted her and pulled it. All three coaches had them on as well....
