  1. YOUCH, TonguesOut.... How many stitches?
  2. Won 1st round playoff game tonight. I was worried in the locker room before the game, only had 8 skaters and feeling "here we go again", we have been battling this all season. One game, 13 guys, the next 8-9. Felt much better when in warm ups, they had 5 skaters and it didn't get better for them. 5 guys, skated the entire game. No idea how they did it, I was dying with the short breaks I was getting. In the end, I am just glad we get another game(we were the lower seed). Oh...and got the word tonight my '05 made a 14U team a local organization is putting together(they don't currently field girls teams) to play in the Chi-Town Shuffle. Assuming we take that slot, it's going to be a pretty amazing experience, playing against some of the best 14U teams in the Country.
  3. Fun stuff! Few things I enjoy more, than watching my kids compete. Good luck to him.
  4. If someone files mine, I hope they'll also pay!
  5. $100 jump in price on the 1S from the MX3
  6. Took one shift to get the stink off my new EK60. Total grinder goal, 2nd rebound, little backhand flip, but I'll take it. Unfortunately, we gave up more than we scored. Win or lose, playing hockey is better than not playing hockey. Now I need to wind down and try to fall asleep....it's a work night....
  7. Keep your head up, moving forward, I'm sending you good JuJu!
  8. Last couple weekends, getting into the transition. We really don't play with her soccer teams during hockey season(sneak in an indoor game here and there, probably 3 this year), but had a free weekend and friends in the town hosting, so jumped on the tournament. Not a bad showing in the soccer, first time on the grass since October. Top bracket, 1 goal allowed in 4 games, Champions! The hockey banner was meh, we ended up in a tourney we were far too good for. Never played in it before, just how that works I guess, but we won't be invited back.
  9. Congratulations to the girls and coaches, fine job!!
  10. Any day you get to play hockey, win or lose, is better than a day you don't get to play hockey. Now I'm going to sit in my chair, rest my old legs and hydrate.
  11. Just proud dad stuff... First, my son's first year of travel, just 3 years ago yesterday. Crazy when I look at the photo. He's proof, you don't need to push your kids. Let them go at their roll. It was all I could do to get him do more than go to practice(he just wanted to play games), but found love at around 14. Has done just fine. And the young one....who can't get on the ice enough. She bugs me when I don't want to go.
  12. ^^^ Just as a side note on that. My daughters clubs auto defer to the docs, have to be cleared as soon as concussion occurs. Sidelined, no practice or games, until cleared by physician. I just think the younger the brain, the more cautious approach doesn't hurt. There is also reportedly a bunch of research coming out(soccer) that girls apparently appear to be more prone to some of this due to neck strength. Don't quote me, but I watched something on HBO Real Sports re: it. In a nutshell, I just don't think pushing the envelope with pups is worth it. Hopefully many games/seasons ahead, boys or girls. Not to mention, life, school ect....hockey/sport at a competitive level(not counting beer leagues) ends soon enough, but you only get one brain at best...
  13. You're doing the right thing.
  14. I'm not venting, just ughing. I've never not traveled with my '05 and her boys team is rolling this weekend. Man I wish I was there. Flip side, I did travel a bit with her brother and his team won in 3OT to advance to the finals of the Wasatch Cup. Just odd...never sent the girls off.
  15. You'll have to make a point of getting the girls on the ice with her, MTHockeydad. Yesterday was even better, broke out the 14's from the 19's(19's going today, just 14's yesterday). She is so personable and gave my daughter a big, what appeared to be genuine hug, after as we were leaving the arena. Stuff like that goes a long way, my daughter thinks Lyndsey is the greatest thing ever. Lyndsey is a great ambassador for women's hockey, I'm a big fan and I don't think we'll ever miss something she does here.
  16. ^^^. Nice on the hockey & the new pup! My little one was able to get out on the ice with Olympian Lyndsey Fry for 1.5 hours tonight. Great session/clinic and Lyndsey and her parents are a nice as it gets.
  17. That stick swinging is unbelievable. Crazy a league supervisor would see video of it and do nothing.
  18. Both my dogs came home with Kennel Cough.... It was a ROUGH NIGHT.
  19. When traveling for a hockey tournament, rule 306, always keep your fridge stocked to stay hydrated....
  20. Couple of the young one this past weekend, went 3-1, but didn't advance. (Edit for - for some reason these were deleted from my PB account?)
  21. Good on you and keep it up!! Played my first "real" hockey game a little over a year ago(I'm 45) and now play on 2 different teams(Rookie League & D-League). I'd play 4-5 nights a week, plus weekends if I could swing it.
  22. Sending positive JuJu to you Chad and to your player, MThockeydad.
  23. Holiday can be a bit hectic and whatnot, but I really love the opportunity to get together with all my immediate family. Also, something special gifting someone something they really want and have no idea they're getting....those smiles and sometimes tears, priceless.
  24. Priceless right there...makes every hour worth it. AWESOME!!!Buccigross is going to wear a @skatinutes #cawlidgehawkey jersey tonight on SportsCenter... I already loved the guy and have a ton of OT challenge and CawlidgeHawkey stuff, but this sends me over the top. Love me some Bucci!
