Travel season starts! First tourney with the Boys(U10), Champions! Picked up with a U14 girls team to go to Vail in a few weeks(couldn't field a U12 bracket, her girls team). Had them make her a sweater with her name/#...sometimes having your # is worth paying a few skittles. The Boy picked up his first ACHA D2 point of the season, with the @Skatinutes, last night. Utes stay undefeated and should enter the first rankings as the #2 in the West behind ASU Elite.

My daughter was voted the "C" on her U10 boys travel team last night. She wore an "A" last year & this is her 3rd year playing on this team, so not a huge surprise. That said, my girl receiving the votes to wear the "C" & represent her boys travel squad is pretty stinkin' neat. I'm VERY PROUD of her.

Chadd, since last Saturday I can't get this thread out of my mind. I don't know you, but can't help but worry about how you are managing. Im sending you all good JuJu and hope you are managing as well. Thoughts with you and your family.

Couple recent photos of the pups in game action.... The Little One skating out of their zone. Got a nice shot off, didn't finish. The Boy with a few shots from the point vs BYU.

I'm sorry for your loss and send my sympathies. Surround yourself with family and friends. What a terrible thing.....

GREAT WEEKEND! The boy regular shifted with the University of Utah's crushing of the team down South(BYU). The Little one had training camp with her boys team, crushed. Had 2 comp team soccer games(1 11U, 1 12U), played great, but ended 0-1-1. Played great in my Sunday skate with the boy, scored twice(1 goal is a good skate). He kept getting on me for the hatty, I had more than my fair chances, just couldn't finish. This skate reminds me of how bad I am. One chance, my boy fired perfect pass to me in front, but so hard I can't hold it. Hell, he fired one to me sliding in from point that I tried to grab with my skate and it almost knocked me down. No worries, I always say you can't get better playing with a bunch of people worse than you. I think I had my best Sunday skate. Add to all this.... I replaced a toilet, cut down a tree, 3/4 filled a dumpster I had delivered, with junk....WTF...how do we collect junk. Dumped 2 mattresses(bed springs), the tree, 4 televisions, a dvr, the old toilet & a bunch of other junk. Oh & smoked some St. Louis ribs today, had a great cigar and watch the lunar eclipse. GREAT WEEKEND! P.S. The Utes kicked Hell out of the Ducks....so that was pretty sweet as well.

I agree, but am biased. They have 5 jerseys, I think, that they rotate. Few pair of socks. Shells stay the same(though new this year). I'll see if I can find some pics.

Couple of the boy from last nights scrimmage...

^^^ know what, not really a comment on that stuff or whatever, but I skated on my first NEW ice last weekend. They dump everything and do a new sheet every Summer and the guy I do a private drop in with, opened the ice for our drop in....it was so odd during the warm up..... Looked like you were 1/4" above the surface. First time I'd ever done that. I was late the next day(would have been the 2nd skate on the ice), so didn't see if it changed much. Anyway...just worth a mention. Sorry for your delay. Say "they", guess my home ice. I have 6 sheets(5 rinks) within 15-20 minutes. But AFAIK, they all do this.

9 holes this AM, hacked. Drop in for 1.75 hours later, I struggle. But I'm good at this....
-
Left work early to tailgate the Utes game vs Michigan(good guys won), took today off to recover, 4 day weekend. Life is good.

We'ew back! Last night skated with the kids[girl with the boys](looked better than I expected), tonight with the girls(few girls dumped, playing with boys only, disappointing). All said, glad to be back. Flip side, if we could get all our girls on a team, we could do some serious damage. Never traveled to a tourney we didn't maker Championship. Can't get girls to commit to girl teams, so we travel with 1/2 the talent we could and still do well. Frustrating, but I understand it's a financial commitment. That said, my daughter has missed tournaments due to her first commitment, boys team....???

Good for her!!! Been playing for over 30 years and don't have one.
-
That makes me laugh. It's great and a pain, all at the same time. Wouldn't change it for the World. Been plugging stuff into the calendar & it looks like a mess of time.
-
^^^ Her and she appears to love 'um. I expected to have a bit of pain(the heels look small) and she said the there a bit hot there on the bake, but nada, great...1.5 hour drop in today and said they were good as gold, bingo, like her 28K's.(28Ks seemed really soft, IMO). Son took dump for the Utes as well, lot of swag(clothing), new Re-ACT(I get his from last year), gloves(Sherwood T-90's he is not a fan) & a bunch of EK15's(pay $100 for them, get name & #) which he loves(first time holding one).
-
^^^ Added bonus(don't think it's happening), mom can fit in her 2.5 Jr Reebok 28K's. But maybe we'll keep 'um just the same.
-
Out with the old, in with the new... The Little One got new skates today.
-
If that's the agreement, great. But if their is not a verbal, if you're drinking beer, you probably should take a turn and bring beer.
-
Guys that always take a beer after the game, but never take a turn to bring beer. Seems like it's the same 3-4 guys that always bring beer. Hell, there is a guy that has brought a few times in the past year and he doesn't even drink.

Not having a hockey shop that I can go into and try on multiple skates, in the sizes that I want & model I want(even one off) to make decision on skates. It grinds a bit to always hear, try them on, as if this is a option that you're just overlooking. I was in Anaheim for business a bit back, walked into Hockey Giant and was BLOWN AWAY by the options of a shop like that. This type of theft is crazy bad here. Drugs are the bane of our society.

Making travel arrangements for first few hockey tournaments of the season!!! Though still a few months out, it's close enough that I'm booking rooms and plugging in practice times(3 weeks out), YEAH!!!!
