VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne

Got my new pair of Trues today. I was very impressed with the fit and finish in the most recent model compared to my older skates. https://imgur.com/a/V3ArJ6j -
Best bet is to ask the person what skate size and model they usually wear. For example, I wear a 7.5EE in Jet Speed and Vapor. So if I was to sell my True skates I would make sure the person buying them matches my specifications

So, first thing. Why are they using a Bauer scanner or Bauer Brannock device? Each manufacturer has their own fitting specifications. Secondly, it seems to be that the built-in arch that CCM incorporated into the AS1 is not working well with your foot shape. Looking at your feet I think you should be wearing something else and not an AS1. If you have had them less than 90 days return them under the 90-day satisfaction policy and try on the FT1 and 70k skates. What is confusing to me is the way Bauer rates your feet as compared to what I am seeing. I would not say you have very high arches but Bauer marked you do....

How big of a player is he? It might just be that the boot cannot support him or his skating style. If he is playing high-level Junior A I would imagine him going through a pair of very high end skates each season.

Yeah, I remember many times as a kid playing travel tournaments and forgetting socks and having to skate barefoot. It was traumatic. I need something, even if its a thin as a pair of nylons to be between me and the liner. To each their own though. -

Usuaully, yes My feet barely sweat and I wear sani-socks. I imagine if you are barefooted it would be a different story, or if you used a thicker sock. -

I use regular beeswax but I imagine sno-seal may work the same as well. -

Interested in hearing. I personally use leather waterproofing beeswax and it works excellent. -
It's likely they will replace the skates, though they might insinuate the issue is due to improper baking. In my experience anytime they see an eyelet like this that is the first response I see from CCM or Bauer. Its actually a pretty easy fix to sew more material there to strengthen it or to use an oversized eyelet.

One is thicker than the other and is also more durable. -

They have the wick liner and the clarino liner. -

I guess the only thing that customers have mentioned being weird is them submitting payment to True instead of the shop when they go online to schedule a fitting appointment. -

Tyson / @Sk8Stk, Interested to hear what you think about the new ordering process? We just started to switch and I find it way more complicated. I do like that the form is all digital now but the splitting of the customer portion and the shop portion is a headache. -
Optimized means slightly less weight.

Has anyone had a chance to touch one of these yet? One of the guys I skate with had one, he is a CCM rep, I wanted to check it out after our skate but he left in such a hurry I didn't want to bother him. Seemed to load like a Warrior QRE as he had a wicked snapper.

I believe they are currently on V4 of the skate as they recently switched to a new carbon weave. -

I agree with this, with the exception of True skates. -

An FT1 has almost zero protection. Ever blocked a shot in one? The retail model has almost zero protection anywhere other than the ankle, and even there its thin compared to a True skate or even other brands. I have owned a few pairs of pro spec FT1 skates and they are marginally heavier than the retail model. There is more padding throughout the entire skate, clarino liner (optional) and thicker ankle pads (optional), and even the composite seems thicker. I am not sure a retail FT1 would be able to handle 30 days of abuse from a professional player before falling apart. Now, I am not picking on the FT1, because it is one of my favorite skates, I am merely stating facts when comparing retail vs pro spec skates. -

I don't care what it's called. Thanks fact is I see it more with one brand than others and that "slang" is what most people understand it as, hence why I used it in quotations. -

A retail FT1 is not even close to pro spec compared to a True skate.
