  1. You'd be surprised at how people waste time and money, I've had people pay tremendous money just so that they can say that they've tried it and "gave it a fair shot".
  2. I'm surprised that Bauer won't address a big failure like this, with only 5 days over the warranty. They're not cheap boots either. I would ask again maybe and highlight that the boot was deemed irreparable by others. But in terms of it being a sizing issue, would this normally happen if the boot is too big and therefore the stress point is not at an reinforced area?

It really sucks that you have had a bad experience with the skates, and in my opinion you should get a refund and everyone should have been able to walk away from the deal after a couple of tries to remedy the situation. That said you can't spread rumours off of speculations, in just these two short posts you use 8 uncertain speculative statements. I have verified these statements in the past with a current employee to be untrue, and followed the process to verify that. My disclosure is that I am considering purchasing a skate from them soon.
  5. You're creating a lot of FUD from speculations. This is the exact rumour that made me reach out to a few TRUE employees who've told me that they make custom lasts out of every scan. In fact the process that I've followed was that of my teammate's who wears juniors sizing (she's short).

  8. Not to sound accusatory, but I'm curious as to where you have heard this. The reason I had contacted True in the first place was to exactly to address this rumour that I had read online from a different Hockey forum. I wish a verifiable employee would come on here to explain.
  9. From the conversation that I've had with a current True employee, they have confirmed that they create a custom last from the 3D scan for your foot and your foot only.
  10. Yeah one thing that's reassuring me about a purchase is that a couple of my teammates have gone to the exact LHS that I will be going to get fitted/scanned, and have had great results.
  11. So this was one of my biggest concerns and I wrote them about it. Turns out they actually do make custom one-off moulds off the foot scan. This is the quote "...Our the[sic] moulds used for our skates are designed from your foot scan. Once the mould is in place, material as[sic] added layer by layer as an inside out build..." Reading through @smu's posts and issues that he's had, we are all merely speculating what the LHS and TRUE are actually doing. I'd like to know if and when, and most of all how it will all get resolved. Listening to the whole saga I was a bit hesitant (especially dropping 1k sight unseen), but I think I will make my purchase in the new year.
