[PLAY-IN] (6) Carolina Hurricanes vs. (11) New York Rangers

I really think Kakko is going to be a tour de force once he develops, it's going to be neat watching this kid mature. -

And the thing is, Alexandar Georgiev is a stud too. A true embarrassment of riches. -

Agree with you, I see the Blue Jackets win if they play as you say. Take full advantage when that top 30mil line isn't on. -

Rangers also have a great Goalie core, it'll be a close one I think -

I think the Habs will steal at least one, but even as a Habs fan I don't see them coming out of this one. Even if Murray looks bad, I think Jarry is quite good. I don't think that Price is overrated imo, as he's been voted time and time again as the best by those who actually play against him. But unless he goes on the crazy hot streak + luck like Halak had that one year, he won't be able to sway the outcomes. -
You mean it's not the Krak-House?
-
The lines at the bottom is a bit unbalanced vs the arm bands. Could have used a bit of a wave there too maybe, or maybe it was a bit too much. The shoulder logos are a bit uninspired, could have maybe used a "K" in there or in the logo maybe. Or maybe even spell out the name somewhere. The Main logo itself looks good, I love the tentacle incorporated in, love the ferocity that it conveys. EDIT: Ok I will recant my judgement on the shoulder logos, it's much nicer when I saw the detailed work incorporating the Space Needle. https://www.icethetics.com/news/release-the-kraken-seattles-nhl-team-finally-has-name But the Wordmark is troublesome because I'm not sure if the first K is a capital or not in that font. Seeing as it's different from the 2nd K, it must be but there are not enough distinction between the two.

The Seattle Grundéns would be a twist and a half.

I think that's an old issue that CCMs had in the past with one line. My SuperTacks 2.0 and JetSpeed FT2 has lasted/worn really well.
-
I can tell you that a few of my friends who were on the fence about buying Trues in the past are going to jump at the lower end model. I'm probably going to get my oldest son a pair of TF7s, and keep them for when my youngest fit into before selling them to another hockey parent.
-
Yeah I guess the main advantage would be that you would be able to try the TF7 before buying it as well as having the option of returning it or warrantying it should something go wrong.
-
One thing I think with the new TF7 coming out, it might obliterate the 2nd hand market for used Custom TRUEs.
-
Chiming in late but from my experience, the RX3 felt whippier than my CCM SuperTacks 2.0 and Jetspeed FT2. Their gloves feel a bit tighter (to me) over the back of the hand, but with similar room/volume everywhere else compared to Bauer Vapors.
-
I'd gladly pay. I was tinkering with a backup/ODR pair for about a year, and I sort of settled on a pair of Grafs that needs loving, but if I can fit into a TF7 that has 95% of the comfort at the price announced, I'll make an appointment once Covid's over. I might be one of the few that don't care what my skates look like lol. They could be purple, yellow, hot pink, or puke green as long as I can skate fast and comfortably for hours.
-
It would be nice, if based on your scans they could tell if their Retail versions would work fine, or if a full custom would suit you better. I'm about 90% sure that I'd fit in the stock version, I guess I'll find out about their return policy first before I spend on backup or goalie skates.

Tydan Blades to cease wholesale sales
Giltis replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
In 2004 I worked at a speedshop where for a full day all I did was drill holes in a plate that was covered to get around legality of having the said piece. It was legally murky as it wasn't illegal to own the modified piece, nor to operate it, it wasn't illegal to purchase the piece with the hole filled in either, nor to modify it after. The legal procedure was that the client had to purchase the unmodified piece, and then in an invoice that was dated later to pay for the modification (we charged a 1$ for the work). I wish I could remember the car part that I am thinking of. But you're right it may not apply to the hockey world, and this method may not be possible anymore. IP Patents or Trademarks do not cross borders I believe, but to your point, US and S. Korea do indeed have a copyright relationship, so it could possibly be pursued legally. -

If they really wanted to play the legal game, they could sell the same blades with a little nub that the user had to grind off before using it. -

Not that it matters to your point, but just a small correction. Massive is based out of South Korea -

I love my True skates so much that I'm saving up now for a backup set next year. -
learning hockey at an advanced age
Giltis replied to Amazinmets73's topic in General Hockey Discussions
Sometimes we get prospect players from universities around the area to run the drills for the kids that I help coach, it might be a mandatory thing that they must do for their classes. One of them was showing his favourite deke at a medium pace, and it caught me off guard and flat footed. I wasn't even part of the drill and he caught me. -
I have not, but I have seen it done. He had used a type of soft closed cell foam to reduce the volume in his glove. If I were to do it, I'd enclose it in a fabric of sorts and attach it with a velcro so I can wash it from time to time. Closed cell would be important to inhibit bacterial growth. EDIT: I've just asked him, and he used https://www.sportwheels.ca/nash-helmet-foam-kit.html but has since gave up on the gloves and just got a new pair. He tried to glue it but wasn't successful. I would have tried this glue https://www.thistothat.com/cgi-bin/glue.cgi?lang=en&this=Fabric&that=Rubber if I were him.

Is your rink closed? Corona virus stuff
Giltis replied to caveman27's topic in Miscellaneous Discussions
That sounds amazing, did you flip a puck to the stands after warmups? -
He was exciting to watch as a Habs fan, especially during a terrible season. He was slowing down near the end, but if you can manage his workload I think he can be effective once and if the season resumes.

And Ottawa's also closed its rinks https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/city-of-ottawa-closing-all-municipal-facilities-for-three-weeks-due-to-covid-19-1.4852171? -

All of the rinks in Montreal are closed as of today I believe.
