  1. Yeah most masks that I've purchased whether for myself or for my kids have been this way, no returns.
  2. I recommend the CCM FV-1 over the Bauer's. Good clarity, no fogging. Install was a bit tougher, not a fan of the clips and I had to flip them around from how it's put on originally out of the box. But at least I don't have to dremel the brackets anymore like I did for the Bauers in the past. The CCM screws that come with it are really dinky and I could probably shear them off. The CCM J-clips are nicer and easier to dial in with how your cage sits. My U9 kid likes it on his as well.
  3. Just had a practice with the CCM game on mask over my CCM FV-1. It was a bit uncomfortable on the bridge of my nose but I think I can adjust it. Zero fog issues (although I wasn't as skating as hard as I would during a game), if anything it seems like it directs the fog down.
  4. So it's the worse of both worlds? Not only can it fog, it has grills instead of a clear area where you see through.
  5. I've bought the Bauer multiple times over the years, because it was the only one available. They always start out great until one day it fogs, then you have to use a spray, and then after awhile even that stops working (I always use a microfibre cloth and use a protective bag to transport). I've recently purchased the CCM this time around (after an errant stick caused a huge scrape on my previous bubble), so far so good.
  6. I like the Jake Allen pick up well enough by the Habs, but in hindsight it seems like they could have gotten a better deal for a younger guy in Free Agency.
  7. They have Casey DeSmith who seems decent enough.
  8. Rumour is that Domi was stuck on wanting a 1~2 year deal. I hope this deal is a win-win for both clubs, Anderson's risk is that injury but I'm assuming they have done their due diligence.
  9. We use a milkcrate, we also put like firstaid and cones into it, doubles as an obstacle. Easy to toss pucks back into it
  10. Did you feel it immediately? Or somethings you felt as the game went on?
  11. If you're on the ice everyday for a long period of time, it's a good idea to rotate between two to make them last longer. Or if one ever needs extensive work, you always have a backup pair (some also like having an outdoor pair). I usually keep a pair of ODR skates at the office (although I guess I won't be needing those as I'm WFH for the foreseeable future).
  12. Still surprised at how well Dallas hung in there.
  13. Will Stamkos make an appearance?
  14. I didn't want this series too closely, but of the times that I watched it seemed like a closer matchup than the results showed.
  15. TB is just too much, and they are really gelling right now. I really wanted the Isles to get it going.
  16. They're still uncommon/rare, I still get asked about them in older pick up groups in Ottawa.
  17. I've heard nothing but great things about the CCM FT3 Pro across various ages and levels. Seems like they really got everything right with the stick.
  18. I'll second a recommendation for Joe at BSharp. He's fixed my Trues before to perfection. A stand up guy to boot. I wrote about his work here https://modsquadhockey.com/forums/topic/71678-vh-footweartrue-by-scott-van-horne/?do=findComment&comment=1099320
  19. So the group that I play with has slowly started a month ago with precautions. Got word last week that someone might have been exposed so everyone needs to get tested. So I guess I'll delay the comeback a bit.
  20. D3O sells in sheets, that could be interesting, as well as you can get some nice foam (dual density) from https://www.resilientgoalie.com/foam and http://www.protectiveathleticwear.com/materials.htm
  21. ROFL when someone says this, but three other people loses their jobs. What's next for the Pens?
  22. Yeah, I think this is why you can't go full moneyball for Hockey (looking at you Dubas), and I think Carter Hart for example is going to be the next Price, good to decent numbers belying just how good he is for big games.
  23. I agree with the general sentiments here, they needed to spread the talent a bit, then bring it together for dire moments when you pull the goalie. Seems like they relied just on individual numbers and didn't account for how well the players gel together. In contrast to Andersen, people say Price is overrated judging by stats, but he always shows up for big games (even though the rest of the team doesn't).
  24. I guess what you could do is to dial in what you want using the multiple layers with an old pair of skates that have the same pitch, but then replace it with one single one afterwards on your good skates (but that's a lot of riveting).
