  1. Well, they had to dial back the blade stiffness without changing the materials used is my guess.
  2. I have pretty good insurance. I've already had a variety of surgeries in the last couple years. Last one was a spinal fusion, L4 and L5. A couple months before that was a hip arthoscopy. A couple years before that was shoulder labrum repair. The cortisone shot helped the shoulder pain a bit. It's been two days since I got that shot. The numbness/tingling is still happening in my pinky and ring finger. Pain in fingers, hand and arm are sporadic. MRIs are pretty expensive, especially if you need the dye. Does neck MRI require a dye? I know for my lumbar, it didn't. Surprised you can play after three cervical vertibrae are fused.
  3. That should be fun to see it break on a slap shot. $400 down the drain.
  4. As for the tingling, it's in the last 3. Now, it's always tingling, instead of on and off. Pain still comes and goes along the shoulder blade and tricep area in a sporadic manner.
  5. Well, my right shoulder started bother me, pain-wise, but I started getting pain and numbness radiating down the arm, hand and fingers. Thumb is good to go. I went to the doctor, he worked on my shoulder previously for a torn labrum repair. I have a huge bone spur growing at the the humerus at the top near the ball of the bone. It showed up in the x-ray. It could be nerve pinched at the neck. Could be nerve pinched at the shoulder. Anyway, the tingling isn't bad, and doesn't happen while playing, but the numbness is affecting my grip strength. I can see my slapshots aren't as strong. I need to be more deliberate with passes so I'm not dishing out weak passes. Anyone else had/have a similar issue? I'm planning on getting a cortisone shot this week.
  6. Interesting. This was always my favorite design from Koho by Lefebvre. Never really knew if those rubber nubs on the outer roll did anything though. I could not afford this set.
  7. Ever since my spinal fusion surgery, I always wear a weight lifting belt for back support when playing. It's nylon one with velcro, not a leather one with a metal buckle.
  8. Interesting. Maybe no pitch adjustment is needed, but I can see why you are having issues with sprint-like acceleration and deep turns. Does it feel like the skates are forcing your chest upright when you are bending deep into a cross over acceleration and you lose balance from it?
  9. It would nice if OP posted pictures of his old blades and new blades. Those who are sharpeners might get a better idea of what would work without having to bring your blades to a shop multiple times.
  10. If you reprofiled from a 10' to a 9' radius and you didn't notice a difference and you are experiencing tripping while accelerating, you might try an 8 foot radius with aggressive pitch. Another option is to do a combination radius, and get a 7 or 8 foot radius on the front half and a 9 or 10 radius on the back half also with aggressive pitch. You could also stick with a 9 foot radius and just try altering it to have an aggressive pitch. Also, what is your height and weight, skate size?
  11. I thought you said you had Supreme 2S pros, which have the TUUK Lightspeed 5, a removable blade holder.
  12. OK. Well, if that is what floats your boat, that's fine. Not sure why you want the extra weight of extra padding if you aren't taking on NHL level hits and shots.
  13. What I specifically meant to ask is "why do you want pro-stock pants with extra padding over pro-stock pants with normal amount of padding?" I bought pro stock CCM pants too, but without X or XTRA in the model name.
  14. How much extra padding do you need in men's league hockey that regular pro-level pants can't handle?
  15. Warrior Franchise is more traditional fit. I don't know about the fit of Covert models though. Not really sure if you need extra padding, they are heavier in weight but can handle clap bombs to the thighs.
  16. They weren't going to tell veteran team mates to sit out for the new guy. You seemed to have been shafted from the git go.
  17. Montreal Canadiens team equipment sale. 9 to 3 PM at the Bell Centre.
  18. Oh, I mean street pants, not hockey pants.
  19. What is your height, weight, current pant waist size?
  20. Oh. I had a pair of Nike/Bauer One75 goalie skates. I usually wear 6D in Bauers, but had these in 6EE because I found them on sale for super cheap. Even after I tightened up the laces. My feet could move a bit because it was a bit too wide. I hated them.
  21. This is the first I've ever heard of this. I'm going down 1.5 sizes from shoe size to skate size, so when I lace up my skates, nothing is sliding, whether I'm in goalie skates or player skates.
  22. I have a Bauer PM9 blade. 3/8" curve keeps the long distance shots low.
  23. That other team had an interesting mix of guys who are novice skaters (45 and 33) to guys launching hard slapshots from the blue line.
  24. I got Ottawa Senators CCM pants in black. Not a huge fan of the team, but they are nice and light.
