full cage Choosing best cage color for visibility
Left Wing King replied to Circa6683's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I think a puck to the teeth would improve some of our team! I remember our keeper took a slapper to the neck, he was struggling to breathe for a good 15 minutes, probably had a fag after 20! The next session back he had the plastic neck guard on, first slapper, same guy, snapped the thing in half! Back to the fishbowl, I use a small drizzle of washing up liquid, rub it in, inside and out, then any excess is taken off with a cloth. We're quite lucky with the rink atmospherics. -

Malkin Wearing Two Different Gloves
Left Wing King replied to BenBreeg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
That must be weird, two different skates especially. You'd at least think, he'd get custom skates in either a Supreme or Vapor -

Try a fishbowl? -
I have a pair of Bauer Nexus ones, however the labels worn and I can't remember what size they are. The elastic has stretched and the buggers slip down my arm. I don't fancy buying 4 pairs then sending 3 back. My best shop is a 5 hour round trip.

I've had both of these, for the foot pain, I got a pair of skates that fitted! Made a huge difference from the second I stepped onto the ice! I was able to skate and do things I'd only dreamed of before! For lower back pain, losing weight helped me! I went from 93kg to 85kg. Also I find stretching helps me This one specifically. With fitting skates and less pain in my back. I'm able to concentrate on drills and improve my game! Which is what we all want to do.

Why not go for N7000s again? -
I took my dog along a cycle track then canal and it was good. I enjoyed it. I do have some vids on FB, but yes, the transition between both is easier now!!

Well I've been on Marsblades all week, I then get back on ice again yesterday, took less than a minute to get used to being on ice again. My stride was the same, Marsblades are brilliant. Just need to find a really smooth patch of concrete.

I have a pair of Tuuk Lightspeed from some Nexus N7000's size 254 if you want to experiment.

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
Left Wing King replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Speaking to a mate who has a pair, he's kept his quite tight still. I'll try that until I'm used to them. Glad I went with the boot conversion though.- 2845 replies

They already have the inline deal with Verbero. I can see them going with them again on the holders, on sell them to be converted onto your current boots.

Learning to stop off ice?
Left Wing King replied to HockeyMech's topic in General Hockey Discussions
As silly as it sounds, if you have a wooden floored corridor, try running down it and skidding to a stop. I find when I do it. I always stop on my strong side, left foot forward, right slightly behind, and I lean back over towards the way I ran from. I might try it so I face the other way. -
That's good, as the big thing going from ice to roller is getting used to the strides again.

Well I've done it, I have ordered some Nexus 7000s and had them sent to be converted to Marsblaedes. If interested I'll let you know how it goes.

That's what I'm thinking. Too be honest I'm thinking of getting some Nexus 7000s as used Nexus9000 in my size are hard to find. I've not heard a bad word about the blades either.

I'm 95% on getting Marsblades. I currently wear a Bauer Nexus n9000 6ee. Is it worth converting these and buying new ones, or going with the Marsblades FMT ONE but they are only in a d fit. I have had issues before with narrow skates. I have e-mailed Marsblades, just wondering if anyone has experience with Verbero boots and their fit.
