  1. At the bottom left, there are some numbers, you can click them to navigate to pages. Navigate to page 1, first post.
  2. I would just follow the instructions. Bauer have really improved on their Curv technology over the years and the skates don't need much time in the oven. I think the Machs are using a 12K carbon now. From the horse's mouth: "3D Lasted 12K Carbon Curv composite making this skate 5% lighter than the Ultrasonic. " CCM instructions say 2 minutes versus 3 for Bauer, but require 45 degrees higher in temp (175F vs 220F).
  3. Funny you should mention, because I looked up HECC and CSA and could find nothing on their testing. Well, I did find that HECC just defers to CSA, and CSA, if they even do link to their methodologies, are impossible to find.
  4. A buddy made this for me. https://www.dropbox.com/s/i7rf20osxexxvpl/IMG_1937.heic?dl=0 We tested it against a Wissota HDI and it was at least as accurate.
  5. Contrary to popular belief, media filters do expire. Mine lasted several years. I paid the couple bucks or whatever for a new one. The fan might crap out if it's suffocating, then you've got bigger problems. Not quite as important as changing your engine oil filter, but why risk it?
  6. A couple of individuals on here with no sense of humor, that's for sure. Careful, they'll report you to the mods like a bunch of babies.
  7. I'm not sure I'm following. No I don't think $500 is a steal. Not even the seller does lol.
  8. Yikes, that's being generous. I'm primarily interested in them because as far as I can tell, they actually present the possibility of less negative space than any current Bauer skate since the new fit system was introduced. I've said as much in prior posts, but I have the 1S goalie skate already, and even that skate has so much less boot volume than what Bauer offers these days for the player skate options. There are a couple new pairs in my size floating around that seem compelling for the right price.
  9. The maximum SLS is saying anyone has actually paid for the item, per their stats. They do a ton of volume.
  10. Ya the algorithm is not all that great. It also does not mention when it was actually sold. Easiest option is to click on "have one to sell?" and scroll down to the suggested sale price for a quick proxy. "Typically sells for ($375) ($350 - $400)" So by way of example, this person is valuing it 12.5% more than what SLS is saying is the absolute maximum.
  11. I made a generous starting offer and it was outright rejected. I lost interest at that point lol. Regarding how badly anyone wants them, all I can conclude is nobody wants them because they're over 5 years old and still unsold.
  12. Right. They have been that price for years now, though. So ignoring MSRP/MAP pricing, I think $300 tops is fair if you *really* want them. Thing is, I don't see that anyone wants them because they're just sitting there at the top range of that price already and have been for some time. I had a theory I was going to test out but I don't care for them so badly that I'd be willing to pay some sort of "rarity" premium.
  13. There was no "pro" designation with the 1s. They added that for the 2s to confuse people lol. I should also add these would be considered intermediate in 2023. Retailers are always going to post inflated prices. I meant more like what is the fair value if they were on eBay or SLS, eg.
  14. Were they $650 when they came out? I thought closer to $900. I'd say $300 tops. If you ditched the old LS steel, and just sold the boot, maybe $275.
  15. What do you think a new pair of these is worth in the year 2023? Serious question.
  16. If this is the case, it's not "user error". It's UX. CCM launches a product, prints out some general baking guidelines, store (roughly) follows them. This is the end result. What folks don't understand is, most end users of these products are just young kids going in willy-nilly to a store and walking out with whatever they think looks cool. They're not online researching gear or going to gear mod forums etc. They're not up-to-date on the latest uses of Saran Wrap bleeding edge baking technology.
  17. Probably True just grabbed the closest Brannock and stuck their branding sticker on it. UX is everything, as the saying goes.
  18. Interesting. Ya I wasn't saying they were drilled in literally. I have no idea what the process is, I guess I'll have to go watch a custom CCM skate video. What I meant was the last part you said about going directly into the carbon fiber vs pleather.
  19. Because then he'd have busted custom skates that were baked for 10 minutes by the store employee... At least with the retail he can be in an out in 5 minutes.
  20. Thanks for catching that!
  21. I've never blown any eyelets, to my knowledge. The Bauer one you just turn the timer knob. Google images tells me the CCM one is similar.
  22. Responding to a poster about a shared experience on MSH: "Thin-skinned"
