  1. Lot of roller pickup on a handball court near me. Lot of buying gear and selling old gear. Got rid of a ton of old roller skates at the beginning of the shut down. Nice to clear up some space. We're strongly considering moving soon, so I looked into leagues and rinks where we're planning to move
  2. That's what it looks like, which is pretty crazy, because that would mean that True's top of the line retail skate, if it is really comparable to the other big brands spec-wise and performance-wise, will come in at almost $400 cheaper than top of the line Bauer and CCM. I'm really interested to find out if the TF9 is actually on par with the other top of the line skates. I always wanted to try a pair of true but could never justify it as I fit retail Supremes pretty decent. But at that price it's a lot more appealing.
  3. Seconded. It sticks way out away from your face. I had no real fogging issues and I do like that the visor can be swapped out. The issue I had is that my face is fairly long and the concept hybrid fit much better for me. In the end I think I prefer my true vision 7500 cage because I wear glasses and I just find it to be better visibility. Not sure why, but it works for me
  4. No idea. Boots look way better than the code line, but i still don't get why they didn't put out a carbon boot or even a comp outsole. They don't look like they'll hold up any better than the code line.
  5. Is there a difference between asphalt and asphalt pro? Looks like it's just a different graphic. 89a seems very hard. I have a set on sprungs and without the extra grip that the chassis gives I don't think they would grip well on a fixed chassis.
  6. I never saw that number anywhere. Not sure where you did but it's good to know. Seems like those are the hardest wheels on the market. Can you post where you saw that number please. Edit: I do vaguely remember seeing 85a for a revision wheel. Don't recall details
  7. I'm wondering about the optimization of the R1s for roller play, specifically regarding if they will help relieve the stress of play on the legs and knees. I know the concept is very different from sprungs, but when I play on sprungs they mitigate a significant amount of fatigue in my legs. I didn't notice until I played two games on sprungs and then played a very light game of pickup in an old pair of hilos. An hour on hi los had my legs more beat the next day than playing 3 hours straight of intense 4 on 4 on sprungs. (I had plenty of rest in between, so that's not a factor). I'm wondering if the flow motion will have a similar effect, where it helps relieve some if the stress and fatigue in the legs. I know that the O1 is meant to work the legs more, so I'm hoping that's not the case with the R1. Any feedback?
  8. Not sure how you figure 89a but I use a set of no name 89a wheels for outdoor and I have no issues. I weigh slightly less than 200lbs and I skate hard. If you're an experienced skater I don't think it will be an issue
  9. I think everyone playing with fogged up full bubbles is probably more dangerous than this virus, not to mention it's going to create even more contact between players. also, in China when they opened schools back up the kids played sports with masks and some actually died from it. Apparently the mask was inhibiting o2 for some kids to the point of fainting and a few kids died. I think that's more dangerous for young, healthy folks than this virus. I think a simple test before the season and then tell people not to come if they have symptoms and that's that. Anyone who feels like it might be dangerous can always opt out for a season and see how things go. Personally, I had covid in March and I'd say that it wasn't pleasant but I've had worse flu illnesses in past years. I got the flu last year and it knocked me out harder than this. People have to make their own decisions ultimately
  10. I'd like a more in depth explanation of the flow motion tech in the r1 compared to o1. In layman's terms obviously. I get the basic idea, but I'd like to understand what you mean by "optimized for game play." Sounds nice, but what exactly is different and what exactly is used to determine optimized? Also, I'm assuming these take floating spacers?
  11. Just got these back from JR. 2s pros are awesome. I only had one full set of floating spacers lying around, so I set up the 2s pros. I just threw some wheels on the 1s for the picture. They feel nice, haven't really had a chance to put them to the test, but they feel great and they are definitely mounted perfectly. Have another pair of 1s waiting for the marsblades r1 to arrive.
  12. In my experience, Labeda asphalt are the best. If you got a month plus out of those that's pretty good. I weigh about 200lbs and I'm happy to get a month out of outdoor wheels. I have tricksters coming too, and they better be good because they're double the price of everything else
  13. Never tried the o1s. After playing roller hockey through the late 90s and through the 2000s I got pretty burnt out on gimmicky stuff and just took the "it ain't broke, don't fix it" route for a while. Recently got back into roller, and I decided to give some of techy stuff a try. Got pair of sprungs which are being mounted now and I ordered these R-1s to try them as well. I'm excited to see if the r1s are really as good as they look. Same with the sprungs. I'm more of a shifty quick player at opposed to straight speed, so these are both marketed for my style of play. Definitely itching to test these out
  14. Just pre-ordered the R-1s. I wish there were more info about them, but I figured I'd rather try them at 140 than at 200. Imy interested to see what the new tech is like these days. Seen a lot of crazy stuff in roller hockey, from the tuuk rocker to the v form to the tridi, so I'm game for giving this a shot. That said, I wish marsblades would do some more promotional videos about the r1
