  1. Dude, that's like 4 threads. We get it, you like your gloves and I'm sure we are all happy about it... but 4 threads with 5 pics of the same gloves, not cool.
  2. I'm good eh? Didn't even have to ask you a question and I knew what was best for skaters of your type. Including the member that PMed me that got the same thing done to his skates... I knew it and I didn't even know he had work done. I'm just amazing.
  3. Bob did the FBV along with a combo radius and forward pitch for me. The first time skating on it was a whole new experience. While I could definitely feel the difference in the glide and bite, I was more concerned with my discomfort due to the pitch change. The second time out on the ice was a lot better, and the third time I could really begin to appreciate the effects of FBV as I had almost completely adjusted to the forward pitch. In other words, give yourself one or two more skates to adjust to the pitch change and you'll really appreciate the FBV. Bob did the same for me and I knew it would be uncomfortable, he made it clear in the 2 page summary he sent me about my sharpening. I'm not worried just eager to get back on the ice to try it again. Let me guess, 8/13 compound radius with a slight(or "medium") forward pitch so you bend your knees more.
  4. The upsides are too great, in my opinion, to worry about the bite. I just adjusted, no biggie. The biggest adjustment is speed control. It took me about 3 icetimes to figure that out.
  5. Some nice pants guys. I have a few pair, havent really seen(available) much from other teams that I want, yet.
  6. Velocity STEP steel
  7. One small weak point can lead to a breakage later on... how do you think sticks break when you accept a pass? Deathtron, that's pretty much how I feel. I can skate longer and harder and still be less tired than before. Overall speed, no change as far as I can tell. The other advantage I have is that I can cut harder and my start is better because of the deeper edges(coming from 3/4"). I was worried at first that this would make me lazy but I'm having a blast skating all over the ice and not being tired.
  8. I really want to try it, not because of the weight but because of the initial performance of the U+. Sadly, it has since lost some of it's kick. :(
  9. The tide-2-go pen works very well on cableknit. Very easy to clean, it's already much whiter than before. Need to de-smell them though. Such a shame about the bigger sized gloves or else I would have picked up some extras for friends. The SWDs are 15.5, the NBH's are 16", think I'm only one of two that I know around here that can use gloves that big. The gloves actually cover my elbow pad gap, haha.
  10. Kind of hard to follow up Drew's collection but I picked up some gloves yesterday. The NBH 5-rolls are my favorite but the 9950s are pretty sweet, so many carbon/nylon/leather transitions. All the gloves are new except the Afanasenkov TPS HGTs. Those are going to take some cleaning to get usable. HOPEFULLY another pair from the sale will be coming soon, even if I have to rob a biotch. haha
  11. Still really want those Modry's. :(
  12. That looks like the hosel/blade on a v110 or v120 to me. The v130, if I recall correctly, had more similarities in materials to the 10.0 than the v120/110. I may be recalling the last edition of the v130(I'm not sure how much it differed from the first product line), that had the thicker blade with a wider weave.
  13. I've got more pairs of gloves than you have sticks. haha. ...and I'm not even close to the worst gear whore on this site.
  14. Are you asking an equipment question or asking for help on your algebra?
  15. I like the sublimated graphic, thats a cool idea. The shoulder pads look very top heavy and the shins/elbows look like modified one90/XXXXs.
  16. Nope, 14" barely long enough, I didn't realize the fingers on the supremes were longer than the XXXs... I recall the XXs being long enough for me to fit comfortably in. They should break in to feel nice with length but a little tight now. Dude, I told you. It makes the shot go up, and to the left... Up and to the left. ;)
  17. So I tried FBV for the first time tonight for a coaching session. Normally I use a 3/4" hollow, so I went with 90/75 FBV. From reading this thread I imagined a good glide while retaining a good bite angle... it was a much bigger difference than I expected. I felt that the 90/75 felt a little deeper than a 5/8 hollow but it was workable for me. The first step on the ice, you feel it. What I imagined was a glide maybe 3-4 times better than my usual 3/4" hollow... I felt more like it was 15-20(est) times better, mind boggling. I've tried a few hollows before settling on 3/4" from 1/2" to 1". With coasting on a 1" hollow, the glide was good but it was semi-unstable... no fishtailing but it just didnt feel like I was in complete control. With FBV, the glide is better than 1" and it's incredibly stable. One thing that might take some time is speed control, you just retain soo much speed. Only complaint was a communication problem. This was between my sharpener and myself. FBV's glide was probably the cause of me not saving a stumble, the ridge between the sharpening and the unsharpened blade caught and pretty much worked like a toe pick.. Sending me to the ice in a heap. Normally(pre-fbv), when I wasn't addressing the issue with that transition point, it was save-able but this wasn't. Luckily, I only have this issue at low speed but I hit hard enough that my knee is badly bruised and it hurts when I walk... Luckily, I didn't land directly on the knee cap, that might have been bad. In all the equipment changes I've had, none have made a severe impact on playing the game. Most gear changes are purely for comfort, this is the first change that has had an astounding improvement. I have no doubts that FBV is going to be BIG in upcoming years.
  18. Companies like NBH can be wrong too. NBH 10.5D Vapor, 288 holder... Vapor 10.5E, 296 holder. NBH 10.5D one95, 288 holder... it should be 296 but the kept the one90/vapor sizing instead of considering that the skate is wider. I got lucky, the custom skates I bought had a 296 holder on it. :D
  19. It's VN... that and no side logos/white ear loops. None of that EPP crap on the retail Intake and Intake Fusion
  20. haha, no problem. I haven't needed to skate a whole lot the past couple of weeks anyway(burnt out). Although, I'm glad I have them now, we're planning a couple hours of ice time this weekend. :)
