  1. 12k is checkerboard weave. The former weave was "7K"
  2. Spree, I believe you owe it to the MSH crowd to show off a certain new twig you got. ;)
  3. NBH Vapor XXXX skate Reviewer stats: 6'1, 240. Strong skater, powerful strides. Fit: My past two pairs of skates were Tacks. The wider toebox on the new Vapor line made it possible for me to actually use Vapors, much to my surpise. I previously tried the XXX and couldn't stand up in them for more than a few seconds, these were comfortable out of the box. I baked the first pair, didn't bake the second(warranty return, details below). The second pair has felt more comfortable again, much to my surprise. The boot isn't quite deep enough for me, I'm on the border of failing the pencil test. This led to some issues with forward flex. I have solved this by skipping the top eyelet and lacing outside-in, as opposed to my inside-out along the top eyelets. Fit of course is subjective, try these on for yourself. 9/10 Blade/Holder: LS2 steel is decent, holds a good edge but not for very long. Jimmy speaks highly of STEP steel, I may eventually make the change but I'll still get 4-6 icetimes out of a sharpening on average(3/4"). Coming from Tacks, I needed to get a profiling job, I requested for the equivalent of a 2mm heel lift based on feel... Very close to mimicing my Tacks but not quite, I think the magic number is 3mm. The LS2 holder is beautiful, nice and stiff, very responsive. 9/10 Weight/Protection: Weight on these are great, nice and lightweight. Protection is good but not great. The toecap is solid but there is a spot just behind the toe cap on the inside that hurts like hell when you get hit with a puck. I volunteer coach adult beginners, during a scrimage I blocked a shot from one of these beginners and it hurt like hell, glad it wasn't a slap shot. Besides that ONE spot, the skates are solid and protective. Only felt maybe 2-3 shots that hurt in almost a year in the skates. 8.5/10 Durability: These are proving to be pretty durable. You'll still find the infamous "Vapor cuts" around the boot but it doesn't effect the structure of the skate. The laces are holding up very well considering I undo the top eyelets everytime I take off the skates. Holders and steel are still in great working order. Besides puckmarks, the "vapor cuts" and some tongue fraying, these are good as new. 10/10 Quality Control: In my first pair the outsole started separating in less than 3 icetimes. Having a closer look it seemed that there was a mis-sewn seam that cause the outsole to be stressed to stay flat along the bottom of the boot. Also the left holder seemed to be slightly off center. My second pair has been great. The outsole doesn't show the slightest sign of separating after months of use. The holders look and feel dead on straight. I'm going to give it a 5 out of 10 rating based solely on the fact that I've had one pair that was bad and one that was good. Take that rating with a grain of salt. 5/10 Intangibles: The skate looks great, in my opinion. The colors flow throughout the entire boot, to the holder and steel right on through to the laces. 10/10 Conclusion: If the skate fits, wear it. These skates have been very good for me. So far the skates have been plenty durable for me and the perform as good as they look. Very responsive skates. FINAL: 9/10
  4. Must RBK use the ugliest liner they could find for the skate?
  5. Oh damn... Well we can always pull the blade from leftover stock of Pulses. *shrug*
  6. Hopefully it wont last long. With the wealth of tapered blades I have, I'm pretty much only using tapered shafts at this point. The more players the better of a chance I find something I like as much as the old stuff. Although, I do understand the reasoning behind it... Never stopped TPS from making shafts, gloves. Never kept Easton from making skates. You can't really go after a small part of a market and ever expect to make a big splash in the market as a whole. Just take some Fuel sticks, don't fuse them instantly a tapered shaft and blade combo, makes everyone happy.
  7. None right now, Mission is focusing on the OPS market.
  8. Did you also notice all the color options they have now?!
  9. Icewarehouse also has a pair of knit x72s, 2008 model.
  10. Thank you. Too much thought and too many emails were sent for these. I was also considering the EXACT opposite. White tufftek with black outlined logo and "eagle" on the backrolls. Part of me wishes I would have had my name or lucky number on them but i think it would have taken away from the cleanness of the overall look of the glove. YEAH, like I said, too much thought was put into these. I've got an idea in the works that might look even better, someone want to sponser a glove whore? :P
  11. Ok here's your weight answer. Weighed the rest of my gloves(besides my x50s, they're on their way to eagle). Here are the results: 15" NBH Supreme one90: Left glove: 310g Right glove: 315g 14" NBH Supreme 70: Left glove: 303g Right glove: 314g 14.5" Easton Pro stock: Left glove: 316g Right glove: 315g 14.5 Eagle x-72: Left glove: 282g Right glove: 282g There you go, for all the gram counters out there. It's definitely noticeable when you grab them but on the had, stick handling it's unnoticeable. Weight is not going to make a difference between any of these gloves. The QC on these is fantastic, they are literally off in weight by less than a gram, probably about a 1/3 of a gram. The freaking tag might be the difference in weight. Stitching is beautiful. I probably should have gotten the double palm but no worries. The next glove will probably have a double layer MSH2.
  12. They are weightless. I'm heading out the door but I will weigh them later. According to SRI, the MSH2 single layer palm was doing well in the pros. Since I'm not extremely hard on palms I went ahead with the single layer.
  13. Basic custom eagle. $200ish. Got them from Jason at EWH. Ordered on Jan 22nd. specs: *Model tufftek x72 *Retail x72 length cuff *1/4" of finger length added *SINGLE layer of MSH2 palm, no overlay *MSH2 gussets *All black tufftek, black "EAGLE" on cuff, with white border around "EAGLE". *No x72 logo, no eagle head logo. *Plastic inserts and obviously stitched logos.
  14. Photoshop was pretty accurate. These are what I got in the mail today! Custom Eagle x-72s.
  15. Evidently you don't as he uses a 10/7 meta flyweight. :P Dammit, you know what I meant. Was thinking about that damn 12/9 bio for sale. ;) I have no idea if JR and I wear the same size, maybe... who knows. 10.5 NBH skate. Large bucket. And now for gear!!!!!! Something special showed up today. Custom Eagle x-72s.
  16. Dammit, maybe if I could find a damn 12/9 meta flyweight I can bargain some of these beauties you're getting out of your hands. Yeah, We know your poisen. muahaha I STILL hate you. In Febuary, S9 helmet... in my size. 9500 helmet... presumably, in my size AND one95s... yes, you got it... in my freaking size. Be glad you're not at RDV or I'd stop by the shop and you'd have a carbster sitting in place of your precious s9. ;)
  17. That should be VERY close to what I ordered. No Eagle head logo or model number. All tufftek, white stitched Eagle logos. Extra finger length and MSH2 single layer palm and MSH2 gussets.
  18. Nope, I was too busy to spare time for the toy drive early on. I participated late... :( You are more than welcome to consider me an employee, I just dont do any work for you and you don't pay me. :P
  19. I hate you! If that was Black or Navy I would take the next flight out and steal that damn helmet from you.
  20. x72 :) Hint: When trying to figure out which Eagle model it is, take a look at the backrolls and more importantly, the cuff.
  21. Still waiting, but hopefully they will look very close to this:
  22. Keep them coming, good to meet a fellow glove whore. Let me know if you have any 14.5" Easton polys you want to get rid of.
  23. Post pics in show it off! I only care about the gloves.
  24. I sold or traded about 10 blades. What's left are all "toe" curves(the curve isnt a true toe but the majority of the curve is in the toe). From Left to right: Mission "big toe" curve/ Warrior Delmore/ Warrior Kovalchuk/ Warrior Afanasenkov None are for sale, all were originally from HM. And yes, those are just the ones that aren't already in shafts.
