  1. On a side note does your wife wear two different shoe sizes? If so, Nordstrom will let you by one from each size for the price of only one pair.
  2. I don't know the rinks there but yes a place to practice. Sometimes it turns in to half ice pick up but generally there will be space for you to work on your skills.
  3. >>>stick and puck sessions<< Yes that sounds like what I'm describing. For some reason the name is different all over the US and Canada. On that note look for adult clinics instead of learn to play. Or whatever a clinic is referred to in your area.
  4. After reading your recent posts it sounds like you are ready to go to Stick Time or Open Ice(?) as it's is called in your area. Not pick up, you should be fine. You might be surprised to find out that others will encourage you and give tips. If the local rinks have true novice leagues check them out too. There will always be ringers but many will be supportive. Also ask around about private pickups that welcome all skill levels again most will be supportive. Open pickups tend to be fast paced. It's also time to get a shorter stick and play around in your street shoes with a ball, puck or roller puck. Use your gloves and just try things. You can even use a ball watching TV working on your stickhandling. As a matter of fact start out using a shorter stick than the standard recommendations. http://www.cuthockeysticks.com/
  5. Check the Devils and Flyers websites. They have rink affiliates, the LA Kings and Ducks both have learn to play programs many other teams do too. It may take some work calling rinks but there has to be one or two at least. Good luck! https://www.nhl.com/devils/community/devils-rink-partners https://www.flyersskatezone.com/locations
  6. Anyone else have no signal for NBC on DirecTV? Watching online for now.

  8. Kenny Albert, did a great job calling the series for NBC Sports. Too bad he's done for the season.
  9. Look at the style Fletch had long b4 it was recognized!
  10. Funny thing to me about using mats or towels on the floor. Sure the germs are not on your feet, but when you put the mat or towel back in your bag don't the germs go in it with them? I prefer just to stand on my shower sandals. When packing my gear I wrap the sandals with my skate towel and throw them in my laundry bag

  16. Probably not, prices have skyrocketed over the years. No deals to be found for players, IMO it's collector prices. Plus in the past the staff usually cherry pick the good deals b4 the doors open .

  20. Everyone is different. I need to eat solid food 2 hours b4 a game. A friend of mine won't eat 6 hours before a game. Definitely drink water during the day of a game.
  21. No, ask around and find the best Japanese auto specialist, pretty sure you can get it done just as well for less.
  22. At least you use the toll fees. I have the transponder just to get into the carpool lane and have to keep a balance even though I rarely use it solo.
