Actually, you can't smoke on the street corner in a lot of cities. Those areas are considered public property and a number of bans do not allow smoking in public.

The only pressure is whatever you put on yourself. A doctor that had a C- average is still a doctor and the lawyer with a C- average is still a lawyer. Work on understanding the material and the rest will come. If you need help, look for tutoring resources. There should be plenty of them available on campus.

Flight got held up for almost an hour, then got stuck behind someone doing 20 in a 35 and then two people driving side by side, each doing exactly 55 mph. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but I was told that my grandfather told the nurses he was ready to go, but wanted to talk to me first. Walked in and the nurse said, "so you're the one he's been waiting for." On the plus side, I was able to stop at the house, shower, pack a bag, get dressed and get back on the highway in 27 minutes.

You know, there was just no appropriate topic for this story and it's humorous enough so far that I wanted to share it, so I'll just put it here. Anyway, my weekend schedule was called off due to the impending hurricane, so I texted and asked if they wanted to jam this weekend. He invited me to come see the show tonight, as the other guitar player is running sound for them and we can all get together. Well, the show is at a club that used to be called "the pink lizard". Yeah, it's one of those clubs. My wife is sick, so she doesn't want to leave the house. So it looks like I'm going in without backup. The plan is to get in early, talk to the guys and get out during the first set. Should be interesting.

That's not too hard to deal with. You mention that the company has a policy of refusing to verify employment dates for former employees and if that is a problem you would be happy to provide a pay stub to prove that you did actually work there. This would have been really interesting for me as I had to provide a ten year employment and residential history in order to get my current job.
