  1. I think I found a Fiero in good shape, just have to hope that it doesn't sell before I get down there to see it.
  2. And that's why I hate putting sponsor names on jerseys. It usually ends up costing more in the long run unless they're throwing big bucks at you.
  3. Well, she decided to ignore his last requests regarding burial and didn't bother telling me that he wanted to see me one last time before he became unable to communicate among many, many other things. She has always been selfish and vindictive. She has repeatedly told me that I will never see a penny of my grandparents money, that she will spend it all. She feels that money and possessions are everything, where I tend to feel that the memories and honoring deathbed requests are more important. She has a long history of being melodramatic and taking advantage of people and situations. When my grandmother passes, and unfortunately I don't expect that to be more than another year or two, I probably won't have contact with my mother again. As it is, she only calls when she wants something from me and it has been that way for nearly 20 years now.
  4. Found out last night that my mother decided to sell a number of my grandfathers items without telling me, including a few that he told her that he wanted me to have. "I've been forgetting a lot of little things lately" doesn't excuse denying a death bed request, especially when I have asked about those things a number of times over the last few months.
  5. Nah, he's just anti-social and bi-polar. He can't handle things going well for very long.
  6. The singer in the band I was in went bat-shit crazy on me tonight and I bailed, but at least I heard about these guys:
  7. I get home from four long days on the road and the singer in my band hits me up on facebook while I'm showing a picture to my wife on my touchpad. I tell him to give me two minutes and head down to my desktop as it's much easier to chat. He must have been stoned way more than usual, because tonight he was ranting and in rare form. That's actually saying something for someone who has had as many major meltdowns as he has had over the years. Evidently I was causing a problem because I was refusing to play any song he suggested. What he failed to understand is that much of the stuff he was suggesting, in addition to being really obscure stuff, was all recorded with seven stings guitars, and then often tuned down. In order to play the 25 songs he suggested, I would have needed 11 more guitars to cover all of the alternate tunings. That's in addition to the four that I was already using to cover the various tunings. The worst part is, we actually sounded really damn good, considering where we were in the process. His wife even told him that we sounded better than his last couple bands, and that was after the second run through of songs at the first practice. Long story short, the last three months of practicing my ass off, buying another $1500 in gear and driving 100 miles each way almost every Saturday was pretty much wasted. The sad thing is I was able to maintain my composure and told him they would be better off without me, since they (he) wanted to go heavier. That just pissed him off more for some reason and he started questioning my commitment level. Eventually 90 minutes after I told him the first time that I would be up to pickup my gear before the end of the week, he told me that I was fired. As frustrated as I was with the whole situation, I had to laugh at that one. I guess I knew at some point he was going to screw it up. It's his MO, he's done it so many times over the years. Ironically enough, it's often about song selection and him not wanting to play stuff that appeals to a mass audience. Oh well, at least I worked on my chops a little bit and remembered how much I enjoyed playing with other musicians. Now to start the long and arduous task of finding another group of people that can come to some type of agreement on what to play.
  8. a good ROH will be better than a hack job with FBV, but you shouldn't have a hack sharpening your skates. If there is a warp, the sharpener should be fixing it.
  9. On a lot of teams we've had, that would have been a good turnout. My current team, on the other hand, you can get about 3/4 of the team to show just by telling them there will be booze.
  10. The faster wheel of the full size machine seems to produce a slightly better finished product in the hands of the same person from my experience.
  11. My issues were primarily vision related. If I was looking at something 10 feet to my left and then tried to focus on something in front of me, my eyes would go two feet to the right before coming back to the object in front of me. The bright lights and the multitude of colors on the boxes would make me nauseous within 50 feet. I would get headaches around the house or doing small tasks, but more objects and more color really made the situation worse. The bright lights just made it worse.
  12. Yeah, it probably is related. I couldn't go into a grocery store without getting dizzy for months.
  13. Just check to make sure the edges are level before you adjust and sharpen. If you have a high edge, it will just sharpen with the same high edge if you don't do anything about it.
  14. Congrats man, I'll prep my resume so I can submit it when you become GM.
  15. After working 14 of the last 17 days, it's time for a little relaxation. I've only had five days off since the MSH game in Detroit and most of the days have been of the 12+ hour variety.
  16. Warrior is a $50 off a $250 purchase special on their website and only a couple pair of shoes are listed as being exempt. Unfortunately, they won't honor the discount on customizer products.
  17. Nice to miss two weeks and come back with a four point game. I'm going to have to work a lot harder to keep the scoring streak alive next week.
  18. Mine is in the basement, next to the furnace (hot water). If my timing is off, it can get really hot in there.
  19. one of our defensemen had a hat trick, all on deflections past our goalie
  20. agreed, do not upgrade to wife 1.0 with that one
  21. probably not, I will be looking into that as well given my propensity for absent mindedness.
  22. sounds like you need to buy a second set of the pads to keep in your bag.
  23. But you're president of the world
