Hopefully, it doesn't end your playing days but I think this story should serve as a valuable lesson to folks out there. A few lessons: *Don't play injured. *Find another outlet to release stress. I swear I'm going to go absolutely nuts if I don't find something to keep my mind off of things quick. *When it rains, it pours. *Always save your crutches/braces/pain meds. Tell me about it. I've spent a lot more time with my guitars over the last couple months.

Talked to a friend of mine last night and got some great news. He finally got his shift changed at work and can play hockey with us again.

20 minutes on the bike, rest of the night on the couch. This shit is really getting old.

Great news, glad to hear it.

The new team jerseys were shipped last week and should be here in time for the game this week. If only I could play.

We don't want you getting in trouble over our opinions. ;)

If Ted Nolan hasn't been completely blacklisted from the NHL, there's no denying his credentials. To me, the Blues are just overflowing with talent locked in a far too rigid system. They need a player's coach. He's a VP for the Rochester Americans right now, he just seems to create discord wherever he goes. I'm not sure I would want him around this team. There's nothing wrong with having a system or holding players accountable for their mistakes. The problem is having a system that doesn't fit the team and punishing certain players for mistakes while ignoring others.

I wasn't saying that he would be like Murray in that respect. Bob has a tendency to shorten the bench pretty quickly and really ride his top guys. That's something that is harder to do in the "new" NHL and the Blues don't really have a clearly defined top tier of players. All of those things may work together and result in things working out well. That would be for the front office to consider when making the decision. I do like the philosophy he had when he was coaching Here and in Colorado; "I'm not paid to be their friend, I'm paid to get everything out of them that I believe is inside them." The wording may not be 100% but that was the gist of what he told us. At this point, one has to believe that they are working through their list of candidates.

JR was answering the question about who I was referring to, his opinion on Hartley may or may not be the same. I think the world of Hartley (as a person and a coach) and would love to see him back in the NHL, but I'm not sure if this is the right spot.

That's what I've been saying for a while. It's not just a David thing, his situation has just been a lightning rod to attract more attention from many of us.
-
Who is available to coach though? It's not like there are a ton of candidates with NHL experience waiting for a job. Even my favorite french canadian former NHL coach can be a little hard on kids.

Or you get not get so polluted that you were still hung over at 11.

I ate at the one in Vegas after a few dozen drinks on my birthday.

Pro's equipment is meticulously maintained and cleaned. I'd be willing to bet you could almost eat off of those... well, before ISTOUT wore them anyway! Yeah, Renberg almost lost his arm to infection a few years back thanks to his clean equipment. Yes, and didn't that spark things into motion to keep the gear much cleaner because of that? Better? Yes. Clean enough to eat off? Not even close.

Just put a boot into my holder, it does not touch anything. The only time I've had that happen was with a skate that had weak plastic or if the steel came out at an angle. Our experiences differ, sounds par for the course when people talk about anything.
-
Just for the record, those are two separate statements. It was an observation on David's ice time and an observation on the style the team plays.
-
Next game will be in Toronto, over the summer. Vancouver is a possibility somewhere down the road. I knw ts super early but, when SHOULD information about a skate become available? Just a complete guess at this point but June or July would be the most likely time for the game, so March or April at the earliest.

A lot of bullshit there, as one would expect from puckmugger and some of the others. It's funny that he thinks he needs to be the one to offer opinions on it, in order for it to be taken seriously. I've done my best to avoid him over the last few years, his history of making major mistakes with the facts turned me off. Blackstone has a patent pending for the spinner. That means Wissota, Blademaster and anyone else will have to find a new method to apply the shape to the wheel. Anyone that purchases a blademaster or wissota product that does not license the patent from blackstone, will have to stop using it if blackstone pushes the issue. At the very least, their ability to get spares and replacement materials will be stopped.

The PPF glove is slimmer than the average Eagle glove. Same with the X72 and Fusion before that. Well those are slimmer but not as slim as the PPF, IMO. You could add the X50, X6 into that category too. :) The Fusions that our rep had were the tightest Eagles I've ever tried on. I could barely squeeze my hand in them, but the PPF is fine.

Updated windows and took 20 minutes to get the audio working again. I changed so many settings that I have no idea what actually worked, kinda like when I was doing PC work for a living.

Just to clarify: They offered you a big discount on an upgrade and you chose to complain about it? Most people would have accepted or declined the offer and moved on. Chadd why not sell a good product to begin with? In my opinion your response is ridiculous and reeks of favoritism towards the mfg. Do you think we are making this up? I have learned to be a good sharpener I really enjoy doing it. I have remodeled a room specifically for it in my basement. I have spent far more than the purchase price of the sharpener and yet it takes me 10 + minutes to adjust the holder for my skate and an additional 10 to adjust for the other skate and an additional 10 to get it back for my sons skates. I am growing tired of it. If the standard holder is flawed why not discontinue it and increase the price $100+? Recall possibly? is bad pub worth it? I would have gladly paid for it. As it is I have a holder I have been told needs to be RE-MACHINED in order to work properly? The size spread of the skates I am sharpening is not that great and I do not think the sizes are terribly outside the norm. Pay $1500 for a product and then have the MFG not reply when you report the problem and then get told that yes the holder has issues and you need to re-machine it in order to work. In my opinion Blackstone should at least offer existing owners an opportunity to upgrade at a reduced price. Ideally a recall should be considered. If they do not they are potentially risking legal issues. NOT BY ME mind you. I've used mine and two others, they have all worked perfectly fine. I don't care how screwed up the holder is, if it takes ten minutes, then the holder isn't the only problem.

I can't imagine a coach/GM combo with Gainey and Martin's expereince forgot to do it. It's a big fine to be paid on a techincal (my theory) failure. It shows ho seriously the league takes a situation like this. I'd really hate to be the intern that forgot to fax the form though.
