I wound up going with an 8D. You'll really have to try them on. I was going to go with a 7.5D Mako, but it wound up being too short. The 8D was perfect. Here's my history in skates, dating back a ways. Easton Z-Air - 7.5D Vapor XX - 7D Vapor XXX - 7.5D Easton S15 - 8D Easton S17 - 8D MLX - 7 Easton Mako - 8D

The skates definitely opened up a bit after baking. D width is definitely close fitting. It was juuuuuuust right for me. And yes, for those wondering: These fit almost identically to the MLX skates. A touch 'softer' in the material, in my opinion.
-
That's actually something I've been wondering about too. Chadd, if possible could you show a comparison of the stock Mako footbed with a pair of yellow superfeet? The MLX footbed was waaaaaaay too steep in the arch and I swapped them out with the superfeet and everything was hunkydory after that.
-
The MLX boots were also not available in wider widths. Those had to be custom made. The Mako skate is available in wider widths, so I imagine it will fit a broader range of people this time around.

Doesn't seem to be a problem for Gonchar.

Easily the eBay find of the new year for me. Three pro stock T-Flex blades, one of which is a Modano pro blade. Cost? $0.99.
-
Ordered. Hell yes.
-
Sigh. One and a half sizes too big.
-
That Zubrus curve is awesome. I'm surprised you didn't find a Z-Carbon with that lot.
-
Nice 5-rolls. Love seeing older gloves like that.
-
I meant for me to purchase and wear, haha. The Everett Silvertips assistant EQ was playing at Lynnwood tonight and had a pair on. So jealous.
-
Both Chadd and JR tried on the boot: http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php?/topic/62277-2013-easton-hockey-catalogue/page-1 I'm really surprised that a prototype pair or a pro pair hasn't popped up on eBay yet. Easton's done a really nice job of locking this skate down prior to launch, for once.
-
Yup. And the 7500's in Chicago colors... and the 9500's in NYR/USA colors... Didn't even bid on them.
-
I told myself I wasn't going to collect gloves anymore, but after seeing a few GX pairs go by... I couldn't pass these up. Like new condition. Hopefully they'll be used for something fruitful down the line.
-
Well I'm either buying them there or from you guys, sooooooo.
-
Lynnwood still hasn't given me a straight answer on if they're carrying them. Just a heads up.
-
I need these skates, yesterday.

There may be no concussion proof helmet, but every company is trying to do what it can to mitigate that risk. Football players and their helmets are their principal point of contact in the NFL, unlike the NHL. Comparing the two isn't a good base to stand on.
-
Just over anxious, I suppose.
-
Do we know when pre-orders for the skate will go up? I"m assuming sometime in late January?
-
Wonderful. Thanks for the info. That is much sooner than I thought they would be released.
-
Send them to Peaches, he might be able to help with that. http://www.peachesprorepair.com/%C2'>

Amazing. Just a teeny bit jealous.

Heatley was the closest retail curve I could get to the Modano Pro. Which is still not really even close, but the square toe was great.
