  1. Well, last Tuesday I had to put my dog to sleep. It was truly one of the worst days of my life and the whole week has been so dark with him. He was an amazing, funny, smart, kooky, crazy beast and I will always miss him.
  2. He was on Cerni post surgery. He is still eating and seems ok for the most part until today. Today he he didn't want to walk and I was really worried but he seems ok around the house now. Probably just a matter of time.
  3. You can move the counterpoint but I don't think that would help. I won't put myself in the expert category by any means but I've spoken to those that are and what I hear repeated over and over is that you have to try a few different profiles and dial in what really works for you. Stay tuned on MSH for the opportunity!!
  4. Thanks. Trying to enjoy each day. He is doing so well and is happy and energetic but there is a crazy ticking time bomb inside him. Hard to imagine.
  5. I have these and I have modded them by sewing in Farrell padding. More than enough protection. Low profile and really mobile./. Took some work tho.
  6. Found out my dog's cancer is now active. No more treatments. They give him anywhere from 2weeks to 2 months. I am beyond sad. He has been an amazing dog and a member of the family. IK love him and will miss him terribly. Frankly, I'm a mess.
  7. Loved my quad 0 but I'm nit feeling the same amount of blade on the ice lately. I've gained weight and think maybe I am skating differently.
  8. I wish more people hd your view of things. Fun first, place multiple sports. As @shoot_the_goalie noted if the kid has that kind of talent it will become obvious. As a former coach (just JV and house league... nothing insane) and educator I see so many parents pushing their kids too much and way too many of them think their kid is going to get a college scholarship of some sort. In my opinion. Its wrong minded and hurts the kids in a variety of ways. Stay in school, study hard, play lots of sports and have fun! If your kid is 6'3" 210 and skates like the wind people will notice!!!
  9. I'll speak as a Dad and an educator and not a hockey guy... Unless you REALLY and HONESTLY think you have a shot at professional hockey, you should play in the most age appropriate place and ensure that you have the best educational enviornment available. In my opinion home schooling and billeting are not best for a child's development.
  10. Just wishing you the best.... sounds like you have been dealing with allot.
  11. I didn't find the quad 0 aggressive at all. and since I was moving to new steel shaving down the toe a bit eased that transition tremendously. I think its all subjective.
  12. I dont think there is any one answer to that. I do know that the quad 0 was a pretty good entry point for me.
  13. Wow. That’s huge. I know I should be 175 or so on the charts but it’s really too low for me and i don’t think i have the willpower to do it anyway.
  14. Having been as high as 254 and as low as 194 I know how much hard work and dedication this takes. Congrats!!!! (Currently at 209 hoping to take off 8-10)
  15. Last Sunday had to rush my 10.9 month old Goldendoodle, Wylie, to the vet hospital for emergency surgery. He had a tumor on his spleen that was removed and then we found out a twisted stomach. He is recovering really well from surgery but just found out that the biopsy report revealed he has cancer. We see the oncologist on Thursday but it looks like around 9 months with treatment. Very sad day. Love that dog.
  16. The bigger ones. You can trim I’d needed but you’ll need the width. When JR did my customs (Nexus V-cut 8EE) we went to larger Superfeef.
  17. I am one of the people you would say is "anti-true" and I posted no such thing - in fact I seconded West Side Skate as the place to go for his fitting. All we did is make a fair accounting of the issues that have been reported. And if you read the last few pages in the thread you will see them posted by True owners themselves.
  18. I was at the Islanders retail shop in the practice rink the other day talking to the manager - I know him for many years. He was telling me that tons and tons of skates get tuned back by players. And these are all custom. And you know which one had the most returns....????
  19. As the owner of custom Bauer skates I will echoe @JunkyardAthletic It took work to dial them in. Pain, punches and preserveareance. But the work was worth it and they are now far better than any retail skate could ever be. And I’d also bet, dollars to donuts, better than Trues.
  20. Guess sliced bread is still the greatest invention!!
  21. I coached kids for about 10 years and always felt y job was first and foremost to give every player an experience they enjoyed and second that they grew up a bit and earned about themselves and the game. To that end I always made it a habit to make sure minutes were evenly distributed. As the kids got older the only caveat was if we were trying to win a playoff game we might make some power play or penalty kill choices late in a game but thats about it. To me if I played weaker kids at the end of a game down a man early in the season than they knew I trusted them and they learned to to do it when we really needed them to late in the season. That type of growth is priceless.
