plenty and some good ones too. my favorite recent one was the guy who kicked an opposing player in the head, multiple times and then blamed the refs for it.

we have over 1,000 players in our league. I've got a real job too (and clearly I need more time to surf the interwebs) so there's no way I'm taking stat updates from individual players.
-
as the Head Scorekeeper for our league it actually entertains me when guys get obsessed with every little assist. I get that for some of these guys they haven't done a lot of athletic things in their life and it's a thrill to see on a (basically) public website that you're "lighting up the league". I allow captains, and captains ONLY to email me stat corrections. it's amazing how many send me goals and assists but how few send in the penalties. sadly there are a few captains who will drop you from their team if you're not putting up the points.

found this stick at The Unclaimed Baggage Store in Scottsboro, Alabama. true story.

Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener
shoeshine boy replied to tamtamg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I've got them. I think I didn't even know what they were and from this picture I actually thought they were much bigger. my gf just got VH skates with Step Steel so I may give these a try next time I sharpen her skates. -

goalie risers? was that a post-Kickstarter addition to the box? I don't think I got any of those...... -
no one does a better job than CPR but depending on when you send your gloves out be prepared to be without them for up to 6 months. yes, they are THAT busy.

scored my first "walk off" goal ever Friday night. last game of the season, tied at the end of regulation between the 2 top teams in our league (no playoffs in this league) that were tied for first place. chosen as the 4th player in the shootout. the first 2 for each team missed. the other team's 3rd shooter missed as well. our 3rd shooter buried it and then their 4th shooter couldn't score. I pulled out a forehand backhand move I've been working on and heard my team cheering before I even realized I had scored. all of this on the 1 year anniversary of my dad's passing. I think he would've been proud. it was a great feeling.

perhaps. we've both been skating in MLX for several years though so ugly doesn't matter to us as much as comfort and performance. -

that's a good thing. not all of us have a local shop that does this. -

the verdict is in on my gf's new VH skates. she loves them! she's got 2 games in them so far. she feels like her heel is locked in better than ever. she does feel like she's "up higher" than before and we compared the Step Steel to the brand-new pair of MLX she skated in the previous 4 or 5 games and there is a significant amount of difference in steel height but she'll adjust quickly. -

we'll find out once they are profiled.... question for other VH owners: anybody know why there are 2 footbeds? my gf will likely replace them with Superfeet but we were just wondering. -
ahhhh.....the very elusive Lidstrom curve. my favorite but for some reason not too many other peoples. :(

shoeshine boy replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
excellent pictures. I've been trying to figure out for weeks if this was an "open" girdle like the TO. how much "give" is in the step in part?could you easily cut it out to make it more like the fully open girdles? -

for those of you that missed it in the Show It Off thread, my gf's new VH skates. we both currently skate in MLX. turn around was about 2 weeks. the "new" tendon guard with True branding: -
we'll find out soon. super busy this week. might get to bake them tonight but it'll be the weekend before we can get them profiled.
-
I guess I should've showed that part but yes, it's a two piece junction.
-
nope, that is (I assume) the new tendon guard. the back of it says True. my gf's not crazy about the blue. I told her that we can always color it in with a black paint sharpie.
