Haha....I tried both of those pairs on once! :) I feel the same way....I really don't like the new backroll color scheme that Easton is going with on some of the 4-rolls. The old, plain way looks way better, IMO.

That was the point, I don't feel the need to join the "look how cool I am, too" set by posting pictures of my arm all over the internet for other people's amusement. Besides, I don't have anything as cool and creative as a fish done by somebody on a TV show, so I'd probably just get made fun of. Seems like you can't please the non-conformist crowd. Isn't it kind of like showing off the equipment that you buy on this very board? It's not "seeking approval" - it's just showing it off because you're proud of it, and there's nothing wrong with that.

LOL. Classic.

Couldn't resist the orange visor. I'm not NEARLY good enough to pull it off, but I'm gonna try ;) And those gloves are unbelievable... they had more range of motion in the fingers and wrist out of the box than any glove I've used. I just got my 14" 4-rolls today - the black and blue ones. Do the gloves seem overly heavy to you? Maybe it's because my Eastons are so light but I notice a considerable difference. I was wondering if it will make a difference if I cut out the pad in the glove that goes over the top of the hand. What do you think? Oh, and I tried the paint pen on them (in a small area on each part I wanted to paint that wouldn't be seen if it didn't work out) - it didn't work. The mesh paints fine, but the while pad underneath would be impossible to get to unless you split the mesh open. The plastic (bubble) part in the center - the paint smeared right off but the worst part was the little leather-type strip that goes down the center of the backrolls - the paint just didn't seem to darken it at all...it was really weird. Almost like it was resistant to the paint. So, no blackout for me but they still look kickass. And I agree that they feel great....just a bit heavier than I am used to. I'm sure I can get used to it though.

I know Dukes has a Blue/White pair up there on ebay.....not sure what they have in store. As for mine, it was a few months ago but I think I paid $130 for them on ebay.
-
Nah, they were off of Ebay. And I saw those ones that are currently on Ebay (from Duke's) and I agree that the shipping price is a joke. Those are really close to mine but the cuffs on those are longer.

I don't really have much equipment worthy of showing off besides my One95's for roller (which I have posted pics of way too many times to post them again here) and my beloved Mark Rycroft Easton 4-rolls. These gloves are flat out amazing and I love 'em. They originally had a mustang palm but I didn't like it so I had FIBM replace it with a black clarino single layer palm. I also used a DecoColor black paint pen to black out Rycroft's name, which after 2 coats got pretty black - it looks lighter here than it really is because I bounced the flash because lighting in my family room sucks. Besides being feather-light and feeling great on my hands, these gloves just "look" cool. I'm a sucker for traditional cuffs, traditional cuff rolls and straight backrolls. I cannot recommend Easton 4-rolls to people enough looking for top feel and performance from a glove (pro stock/pro return - not the crappy retail ones). Pics -

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
Fletch replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
I think black laces with white tracers would look good on those skates.- 2845 replies

Easton 4-rolls with the old oval logo, I believe.

Nice Frolunda jersey....

Awesome mitts, Automorph!

I used the DecoColor extra fine (black) on my Easton 4-rolls last night. On the side of the palm, it says "Rycroft" in white embroidery. I used the pen on it and the first coat darkened it, but not enough to where I wanted it (Spinal Tap Black). So I waited an hour and did it again and that second coat made it really, really black. I did it again before I went to bed but it didn't seem to make a difference. So, bottom line - 2 coats are definitely needed, but as of yet, no "purpling." I'll try to get pics up later. The real test (for me anyway) is how it will work on the NBH 4-roll backrolls.

Logo's brutal.....they should have just had the "X" be in the same font/size as the "60"
-
No idea....but you may want to try a white paint pen and "test" a small area of the glove that isn't normally looked at to get a better idea of what you should do.

Nope :) I mean I've never done it. I have some Eastons that I am going to try the pen on first - they are Mark Rycroft pro stocks and I am going to black out his name with the pen before I touch the 4-rolls. I'll let you know how it goes.
-
I'm going to black out everything on the backrolls so they look like those SJS gloves - I am going to use a DecoColor paint pen to do it.
-
I just ordered those 4 rolls yesterday :) I think I am going to black out the gray on the backrolls though....
-
Man I want one of those MSH bags so bad but my shoulder/back is tweaked and I need a backpack......d'oh.
-
Will do :)
-
Here's a quick mock-up of my next creation.....should be done by next month if all goes well. I have everything but the boots - I figure these will match up nice with my rollers :)

Oh yeah? Well, certainly can't go wrong with those!

Everyone knows how I love me some Easton 4-rolls, but I am not a fan of the outer stripes on the backrolls! Aside from that, awesome gloves :)
