    I was just wondering if anyone can comment on whether the M8's are supposed to have the same amount of thermoformability (is that a word?) as the Mako/Mako II's? The reason I ask is because when I tried them on the other day, they didn't seem all that supple, as everyone here has been commenting on, after the bake. Wondering if it was because the sales rep didn't put them in long enough or if they just aren't as moldable as the top tier skate. Thoughts?

    question for you mako owners. had a chance to try them on at the lhs the other day. the only reason i didn't walk out with them was my heels weren't quite as locked in as they are with my g35's. everywhere else, these skates fit my feet better than anything else i've tried on so far, including my current g35's which i've found to fit my foot the best to this point. my question is, hearing/reading how moldable these skates are, is it possible to "pinch" the heel area of the boot to get it just a hair more snug? it's really not off by much, but i'm hesitant to drop that kind of cash on something i'm not perfectly happy with, as it's already happened to me 3 times until i finally gave graf a chance.

    interesting that the mako skate sizing starts at 4. didn't think i'd be able to try it out as the early reports seem to be that sizing(at least length wise) seems to be in line with supreme...in which i'm a 5.5.

    my memory's a bit fuzzy on those, but I remember wanting them badly as a kid. are they the ones with the tackified palms?

    no, what he meant was they actually shorten/lengthen the finger padding itself, not just the palm material/gussets.

    i think the word i remember hearing from reps or JR, can't remember which, is "overbuilt". that's why roller boots also tend to be noticeably heavier than ice.

    ok, i can understand trying to downsize a bit by getting rid of one of the glove lines. but why not just get rid of the x72 altogether instead using the old x70 mold and calling that the x72? a lot of things didn't really make sense to me during that conversation, but i honestly didn't really care about the other stuff. all i really cared about was if the fit of the new x72 was different, and if so, was the old x72 mold still available through custom, which was answered to my satisfaction.

    spoke to an eagle rep as i've been considering getting custom x72's and was curious as to why the cuff on the new model looks different. the answer kinda didn't make sense in one way but made sense in another. they said they wanted to "downsize" their glove line and got rid of the x70 (but then why add like 4 new lines of gloves?). now the part that made sense was how she said the x70 was a very popular model so what they did this year is made this year's x72 to the x70 specs, which explains the different cuff. the good news for me was that you could still get last years x72 mold on custom orders, just that it won't come with the new quickdry liner. confusing.

    any idea when the new ccm protective come out? i like how they went back to having laces on the pants.

    by any chance, is one an E/EE and the other a D? i know for some boot sizes, bauer goes down a holder size going from EE to D.
