  1. was it the 6k then at 200? Or am i just thinking of bauer supremes at that PP?
  2. I have it somewhere, maybe DS or JR can give you an exact, but IIRC it was 200?
  3. Honestly now, why didn't someone drop like 20 large on all the shit there? Could have put it on ebay and make bank. So diggin those franchises a barber pole socks.
  4. how was the ice/skill level? was going to get a team to go up there, probably will next season.
  5. Everything is always Spring unless otherwise noted.
  6. It probably isn't that they don't care, although since it is a chain that might be the case. We got a shooting area where anyone can take anything stick in and shoot wrist shots, only slaps and snaps with the demo ones. We care what people are doing. But we're small, and not a chain, so that's probably why theres a difference there.
  7. Spring.... Everything is always spring, unless otherwise noted.
  8. According to Easton's website they are available for purchase for dealers 2/26. So in available in stores early march.
  9. You get reach arounds at work? shit where do i sign up? ;) I think the reason most LHS's charge fitting service and baking and first time sharpening for non-store bought stuff though is that it is an incentive for people to shop locally, instead of online. If they didn't have to spend that money getting fitted, baked, etc. at their LHS, and they could get those services for the same price as everyone else, then they'll shop around and find the best deal, instead of paying like maybe 5% more at most at the LHS, because they wouldn't have to pay those services. Plus when people do buy online and have to pay for those services at their LHS, they are going to shop locally next time, because they dont want to pay that service. If my shop is 10 bucks more than the net, and it will cost them 30 bucks to get baked and all that, they'll shop at my shop to save the money, plus, they might get some free shit out of it too. I get what your saying it does seem like a lot of people are upset that people don't buy everything at their place, and if they just provide good customer service then more than likely in the future they will shop at their store. If they provide bad CS, they obviously wont. But the reasoning behind fitting and all of that shit isn't to make a quick buck, its to incite people to shop at their place, instead of down the road or the net. There are two shops in my town, we're the only one with a baker. We've noticed quite a bit of people who buy their skates there, come here, realize we have the same prices or lower on stuff, and then have to pay that 20 bucks for baking everything, they'll come here next time because it will be free. Quite a bit of parents have converted their kids to us instead of them for that only reason.
  10. The olympic break will give us much needed rest but the problem is the guys that need it the most are playing in it. Atleast it wont be that intense of a tourney, normal games i think, but Bylsma really should bench crosby/malkin/gonch when they get back after olympics for like 2 games. What sucks is they dont have a stretch of games right after the break that involves crappy teams, so they really couldn't get any rest until april, where they play thrashers and isles twice each in their last 5. Plus what helps is they only leave the NE 5 times in march/april, 4 times in SE play and once to detroit (which isn't that far), so hopefully that will help. While the stretch is going to have a lot of important divisional games, i think they'll be able to hold it together and get top 6 in east, should be good enough to get into good position for a decent run in playoffs. but unless they sweep like their first round, i dont think we'll get past conference semis.
  11. Probably just personal preferences. When I shot with the ST i took about 2 dozen shots with it...loved it. Almost as much as my x60...but not quite there. But considering the ST is going to be like what 35? dollars cheaper than the x60, i don't think too many people will bitch about the difference, because the money you saved can sharpen your skates for two months.
  12. It is kind of heavy compared to the se16 or S19.... but its balance is amazing. makes it feel lighter than it is.
  13. Spring. just whenever shops wanted their booking order in.
  14. But, I mean, these parent's are living out their dream's thru their kids, and their kid is going to go pro dammit. He's so legit and certain to become a professional, that he has never been scouted, just his teammates. But they're really there for my son... the third line left wing who is a top10 leading scorer...for the team. Also, I've been buying him 200 dollar senior sticks for him since he was 7. He's gotta get used to that big blade sometime, right? So that's why junior's skates (notice he called him junior? That's so the dad can get his name into the NHL...even if there is Jr. after it) are so god damn important they need to move ahead of all ya'lls unimportant skates, and put junior's ahead of them. ;) :P
  15. Also... 99% of people use two sets of skates if there career is that important. Apparently his son's career isn't important enough to carry extra sharpened steel or another set of wheels. What if he broke his steel? He'd be screwed. Idiot parent is an idiot. Sucks about the picture though... atleast it isn't totally broke. But telling him never to come back... smart. Im pretty sure no one would want this guy's business if this is how he acts.
  16. It might have been a SMU or something. But the stick released this spring will be called the AK.
  17. It will be called just the AK, and MAP is 150. MAP on Kronik is 210 i think...
  18. So a lady came in the shop today and was complaining and cussing me out and very pissed that a bag (ST14)'s handle broke. The metal handle. I don't understand how the hell you can break the metal handle unless you are trying to break it... anyways, she said she had bought it 14 months ago. Her son didn't start using it until September. And its somehow are fault we can't replace or fix the handle right now, and shes pissed it might not go thru under warranty, and that shell have to spend another 120-130 (the bag was like 90) every 4 months because OUR bags keep fucking breaking. So she says 3 or 4 times there is no point to shop locally I'll just shop somewhere else or online. Can someone give me a rational explanation as to why someone would behave so unrationally? A) not our fault you abuse a bag. B) not our fault you wait 10 months to use it. C) after we offer to do everything but give you a brand new bag for free (free repair service, etc), you still think we are unfair? And how could shopping not here or internet give you better customer service? It cant! Closest decent shop is 3 hours away, and internet wont help you. She was also pissed because the shop owner wasn't here 2 hours before we were open when she stopped by, and 20 minutes after we opened. Sorry just need to vented...but seriously, i really hate people who blame us for something we have no control over, and then get pissed at us because of that, and then don't come here again or threaten not to come back because of that. wtf. Its not like we pissed on the handle months before you bought it just so the metal will deteriate so it will snap on you later. And seriously, how can you break a metal handle? Besides the fact you should be a man and carry the bag (kid is 13)... its a metal handle. To me unless you intentially fuck with it, it wont break.
  19. No. But it is just weird to see people who spent the least amount possible on skates go ahead and pay extra for sharpenings. Not weird how they take care of their skates well, because it is a big investment to them, however if they are spending twice as much as they could for sharpenings, its weird. Does any other sharpener have this pet peeve: Skates that come in with the laces tied, and they do not bother untying the laces of the skates. Annoys the shit out of me. And its always with the bad "stainless" steel that is rusted to hell, and they make that annoying sound when they hit the wheel.
  20. So you aren't willing to pay 20-40 bucks for bake & sharpening on new non-store bought skates?
  21. I know about the new supremes in Q4 of 2010.. but im sure large LHSs will be able to support having a good stock of one95s. Plus, we have two different ideas of large quantities based on the size of our shops... Large quantity to us is probably 20-25 sticks. Normal is 12-18 when a series comes out. For a bigger shop our large quantity would be a small quantity, with a large quantity being 100+. Do i expect 100 one95s at hockeyworld or perianis or total hockey? No. But do i expect 30 or so bauer one95s there this spring? Wont surprise me.
  22. Sorry missed this.... They ran almost identical on me as the one95s plus probably 2 inches further down in sixpack area. IIRC there wasn't really any noticeable plastic inserts. I know there are some in shoulders but for chest there really isn't. Its like all the foam stuff.... very comfortable. And at the 110? price tag i think it will be, its going to sell really well. If kids try on these and x60s or one95s or 10ks, they'll probably go with these.
