  1. Got my skates in the other day. Took about 4 weeks. Got scanned etc at Cyclone Tylor Sports in Vancouver. The pair of skates I've had for the better part of 8 years is the Bauer one100 which I haven't had much issues with. I've had some minor pressure points when walking on them but nothing really while skating. My right foot is slightly smaller than my left so that was always noticeable for me in those skates, but nothing major. Unlike some or the people who own the VH, I didn't necessarily have to have these skates as most off the rack brands would have sufficed, however, the price point to me was reasonable considering they are the same price as any top end skate out there. Lately, I've only been hitting the ice once a week or so. I Got them baked and swapped the laces for some waxed ones. Haven't had a chance to hit the ice with them, as I am getting the steel profiled to a Quad Zero with a 9/16 hollow which is my current setup on my ls4/tuuk setup. I will be interested to see how different, not only the boot is but the holder/steel setup will be. I went with the stock black, standard tongue, but chose to get the tongue embroidered. Have to say they feel great just trying them on around the house after heat molding. The weight is definitely heavier than my one100s. This is probably attributed to the added rubber/plastic of the True vs VH probably Regarding the finish of the product, definitely an upgrade from the VHs I've seen but still the odd glue residue here and there. I also noticed part of the rubber that wraps under the sole had separated. Not sure of this was due to the heat from baking or just wasn't properly pressed down during manufacturing. I was able to push the piece down and noticed there was glue that was still tacky and it stuck back on and has not lifted since. I will keep an eye on this and worst case I'll just re glue it myself. I will update once I have skated on them since I will be going to a stick and puck session on Wednesday. If I don't like the step holders, I am going to get black tuuk holders and swap the laces for yellow ones 😀
  2. Just ordered a two pack of the Doughty as well. Inspired by cemetary!! Excited. Came to 217 shipped after the promo codes.
  3. ^ I think they just slap on names for some of them. Bieksa does not use a 75 flex toe curve. Unless they were samples for them to try out new flex/curves.
  4. How is the supernatural different from the natural? also, how much is it? I am tempted, but I really don't like the neon green. I guess it is part of their promotional push in advertisement? I am going to wait until they have different colour options.
  5. it feels like the old grip lite shafts easton made during the first gen gold synergy's.. not exact but similar.
  6. Base sticks: Philly colour scheme gloss grip, and matte grip black OPS
  7. Helmet: Bauer 7500 Visor: Bauer HDO clip Shoulder: Bauer One95 Pants: Bauer One95 Elbows: Bauer One95 Gloves: Eagle PPF Shins: cheapy Bauer 100's Skates: Bauer One100 Sticks: Base Black ops p88, Base Hossa pro curve, Bauer T1 P08
  8. cheaper here, http://www.hockeyunderwear.net/
  9. ^ I guess even pros switch flexes a lot... I thought I was weird going from 110-100-85-75 in the last 10 years... Then again using a 100 and 110 was merely because I didn't know jack lol
  10. it was probably already cracked to begin with, unless it was brand new and uncut when you bought it.
  11. it is softer compared to other sticks on the market because the base sticks are more accurate with their flex and lies... their 75s are 75s unlike some companies where there is a +/- 5 flex range for any given stick... the blades on the bases are tanks...
  12. looks like a hossa clone
  13. hmmm.. wouldn't it be awkward with the lack of ankle flexion and the tendion guard being there? it is basically like playing with player skates on with the added shell for protection..
  14. so is it me, or is the totalone line of protective gear basically the same as the one95.. visually they look the same to me. except for the colours.. sorry if this has been discussed already
  15. they must smell nice
  16. lol you'r lucky teh acetone didn't take off the colour of the glove.. especially the teal part...
  17. How does the plasti dip hold up btw? And how is the grip? is it more like the stickum, or like the old easton matt finish grip? or neither?
  18. new shoulders.. nothing special but got them for 80 taxes in from sport chek... 129, additional 10% off, 50& GC :D
  19. the mlx looks like a very vey soft and bendy boot.. and that tongue is almost non existent???
  20. one of my LHS has about 5 of them in stock.. the curve did look nice nad subtle.. they were 35 bucks each if i remember correctly, but I had not tapered shaft to use with it.
  21. its not a huge rocker but it isnt small either.. because the toe tapers off both frmo the top and bottom it gives it a decent rocker... ill try to get pics up soon. wow lol... why is the 65 soooo long lol...
  22. here is my participation.. just picked it up today from base hockey labs. (i live minutes away from them) custom ordered. from what i can tell visually.. the shaft is very similar if not identical to the dolomite. the blade very similar to the bauer one95. i will test it out tonight and see how it performs... although it will be hard to compare since i hve never used a 75 flex before.

    Bauer Vapor XX

Vapor XX/Pm9 pattern/87 Flex User 5'11 155lbs Competetive Roller Hockey 3 times per week Blade - i never thought i would be able or wanted to use a modano/hossa blade. i loved my recchi and iggy but the vapor xx didnt make anything close to those except the pm9 curve which i thought i would give a shot b/c i wanted to stick with the xx as i had a p88 earlier last year. Shaft/Flex - 87 is great for me, i wanted to try the int 77 but i didnt like the thinner shaft. i got the 87 cuz 102 would be too stiff for me esp after hacking off 2 inches off the top. i love the new grip that the xxs have no,,, the first batch i got at my lhs had NO grip! i was choked!love the flex and the shaft in general! (10/10) Stickhandling/Receiving Passes - stickhandling imo is in the player not the stick.. i had to get used to the blade a bit to get my stickhandling and shooting adjusting.. only took me about 15 mins since the pm9 isnt much of a drastic change than what i was using before. cant rate the stick on this category b/c like i said its the player that is the stickhnadler not the stick. receiving passes i would give it a 9/10. si core is the best stick for reciving passes since the puck sits on the blade cuz of the sicore technology Shooting - it might be cuz i switched over from a 100 easton to a 87 bauer but when i leaned into a slapper in warmup i felt the stick really snap and the puck just flew! i love the flex and the long taper on this stick! when i bend the blade the kick zone whip sback and forth i love it! (10/10) Balance - its a bit bottom heavy but im not the one that likes a stick that feels like the weight is dist throughout the whole stick even.. i need a bit of weight on the blade for stickhandling (personal prefernece) 10/10 Durability - the first xx i owned it lasted 3 months and counting until i used it for roller indoors and the blade started to wear cuz i didtn tape it up.. it woulda lasted a good 4-6 months at least on ice! so from that i would give it 10/10 on durability.. very impressed by the durability on a full graphite blade! Conclusion - best ops imo. 10/10 overall compared to other sticks out there! bauer is doing somehting right!
