The first pair cracking I attributed to some extremely cold weather and being forced to leave my gear in a garage. The shop where I got them said the cracking was common and replaced them on the spot. This pair I had been rotating with my custom Superfeet and they just cracked out of the blue. I really like the speed plates but my footbeds cracking on a regular basis is not something I'm gonna mess with.
-
Just cracked my second set of speed plates last night, can't wait for May 18th.
-
I'd stay away from these footbeds, second set just cracked last night. The two pairs I've had only lasted a little over 3 months each. Not worth the price if they're going to crack like this.

Catalogue Review 2016 True Hockey Catalogue
the_game replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
Finally a tapered shaft, gonna need to stock up on a bunch of these in 75 flex! And I am glad someone else is old enough to remember the Rawlings zipper palm, I am gonna go back to yelling at those kids to get off my damn lawn now. -
TSR is total sports repair in Salem, NH, DK's is DK's Hockey in Enfield CT. you can find them both online. Teams usually advertise them on their websites towards the end of the year.
-
Its the overseas version of the 'easton' cuff, its not that bad, plus tapered mesh gussets as well. They need to get broken in but after that should be money. The Halls on the other hand are just pure perfection. All over, eBay, Team Sales, TSR, DK's, Hockeymonkey, Prostockhockey.com, Buy/Sell Forums, other contacts I've made from these boards, etc.

I'm gonna demand a trade to your men's league team! Nice bags

Tomas Holmstrom would wear those proudly JR!

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
the_game replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
You should be able to mount the chassis on the boot and then dremmel out some space for the wheel to spin on the outsole. I've mounted the Hummer chassis on multiple boots with a composite outsole and every time I had to dremmel out a spot for the second wheel. The integrity of the outsole was never compromised when I did this and all of the skates held up fine.- 2847 replies

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
the_game replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
2 things, 1. I think that chassis is too small for those skates. 2. if you are going to use that chassis, yes it looks to be mounted too far forward.- 2847 replies

Got the wife a Forester a month back as our Baby Transportation mobile...that thing is a tank in the snow! Contemplating getting an older model Subaru and trading in my jeep.

My 13 year old self just lost his mind seeing this. Great pick up!

Not really all that impressed here, what is so innovative about tabs that change a little bit of color on your skates & gloves? If anything Mission should bring back their concept from the '714' glove where you can replace the cuff roll, that had customization potential written all over it and they scrapped that glove after 1 year. And why doesn't Mission use the Kryptonium chassis on the DS1 skates?

Hey Justin, If the recessed chassis set up on the RPD Max makes such a difference, does it make sense for me to take the chassis off my CA9 RPD and put on a Tour chassis and dremmel out the sole for the recessed wheel?

Just as a point of reference, I wear a 7.5 in a Bauer APX and had to go to an 8 in the CA9 RPD.

When I baked my CA9 RPD (Thanks again Justin, where are my test pair of RPD Max? ), I took the foot beds out and also during the baking I stood up as well. The CA9 RPD was the first skate I'd ever heard of where you stand during the backing process, but standing up made such a huge difference in the fit of the skate. Pretty sure you can bake a pair of skates twice so if you can find another spot to bake them you can give standing up a try. Just be careful, stand up slow, and you'll feel the boot conform more to your foot. As for shops on the Island, when I grew up there Cozzi's at Newbridge was my preferred spot for sharpening and the like. These days not sure who has the market cornered but a buddy of mine does run the shop out of Superior so if you head there ask for Rob.

The original Mako Tapered shaft has the closest grip to the old clear coat from the Gold Easton Synergy days. Easton went nuts with the Mako II shaft on the grip version, but luckily I don't mind it. And Mack, if those 'Metal Matrix' Hull Z-Bubbles go up for adoption, please hit me up. I have a good home & an Easton Hull Composite blade just waiting for one. And I love how you threw in 'Metal Matrix', what year is it, 2001 & we're still on the Easton Message board or corebeam?
