  1. Check out my Long Term Review on the Alkali CA9 RPD as I cover the topic of how the chassis is mounted. On the RPD it does seem to be mounted a little bit further but as Justin has said to me, Alkali tries to mount their chassis as far back as possible on the boot.
  2. I can't I've never worn an RBK skate so I can't really comment on which way you're gonna want to go with sizing. I can tell you without a doubt that you are going to want to bake the CA9 RPD.
  3. You are right on the money with the sizing for the RPD's, I've got the same set up with a size 7.5 APX & size 8 RPD. The out of the box volume should not worry you, the way the RPD is going to open up after baking and the way it molds to your foot will solve the volume issue. I'll be covering the forward pitch and all 80 set up in the next part of my Long Term Review on the RPD's so be sure to check that out.
  4. Guess I'll be buying another Mako shaft...unless Easton decides to offers their 'Darby' pro curve at retail.
  5. Those gloves are a thing of beauty Krev. I can always take an eBay loss better when I know the item goes to a fellow MSH member. I wanted those Modano gloves so bad I actually considered selling my Cooper Techniflex Glove collection to finance the purchase.
  6. Great looking skate Justin, white laces is a nice touch too.
  7. Hey Vet88, I believe Labeda would be the one to contact here & not Justin/Alkalai. Rob from Labeda is on the board here from time to time and does a great job helping folks out w/ issues like these. Just please keep in mind the Summer Roller season is coming up so most companies will be busy.
  8. Um, I'm on Modsquad and know way too much about Hockey gear than any healthy human being should? Easton 'Darby' pattern = Warrior Vanek pattern = Bauer P89 pattern. Once upon a lifetime ago I had a connection to get me Pro Stock Synergy's with the Darby pattern, that dried up until Warrior started making the Vanek Pattern (innovative Mogilny too if I remember correctly), then the Bauer Customizer came out and I saw the P89 was exactly the same. Warrior stopped offering the Vanek at retail and I cannot use Bauer One-pieces, so I started looking for options. Figuring custom one-pieces from Easton or Warrior would either be impossible to order and rather expensive I asked a certain shop that I know what they could do for me for ordering a 'Pro' spec pattern, they said they could do the Bauer P89 no problem, minimum 6, so I went with that.
  9. As far as I know Tapered Bauer P89 blades are not available as a retail offering. The P89 is however available for college, custom, & pro orders, etc, you just need to find a dealer to order them for you. I was able to find a dealer to order me the Bauer P89 tapered blades, the minimum was a half dozen so thats what I went with. I'm still looking for a decent shaft to go with the blades though.
  10. Worcester sharks sale: April 29th at Noon. http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=4387623
  11. 4 Stitches in my leg. How you ask? I blew a tire and went into the boards and somehow managed to have the heel of my right skate blade cut the inner thigh of my left leg. It gets worse, it was on my 3rd shift of the game & there was no one within 20 feet of me.
  12. Justin, Could you give a better idea in regards to the Alkali CA9 team duffle bag, are there any compartments within the bag for skates, etc? And also, is there a difference between "Heavy duty Tarpaulin" compared to another companies "Laminated Tarpaulin"? Thanks
  13. Ugh, well if I lost to anyone I am glad its a fellow Modsquader. Enjoy them.
  14. Hey Sdcopp, Can you comment or give a more in depth description on the rake of the boot and how it feels/impacts your skating, etc? I understand it keeps you on the balls of your feet more, but does it impact your knee band at all in your stride/turning? thanks
  15. LFOD, As a fellow hockey gear nut in the same age bracket as you, those Graf 300's are money. I'm sure Graf gloves were one of the most popular during our time as kids, I know I went through 2 pairs, awesome to still see a pair kicking around in such good shape,
  16. Won 2 tickets to Pats/Jets at Gillette, Section 120, Row 3.
  17. Boston Bruins Sale is September 10th at 10 am at Pure Hockey in Braintree. Pure Hockey of Braintree 220 Wood Rd. Braintree, Massachusetts
  18. Thought I'd show off a family pic of the current glove lineup. Top Row: Pro Stock Easton Synergy 800, David Clarkson's Easton, Rob Blake's Eagles Middle Row: Cooper Techniflex TF750 & Frans Nielson Warriors Bottom Row: X60's
  19. Suddenly investing my life savings in hockey equipment instead of a 401K doesn't look like such a bad investing strategy.
  20. Are the Havlat EPROS from TSR? If so I tried on that glove and it was unreal. If they were any other color besides the awful Wild Xmas colors I woulda bought them in a second.
  21. AIREAYE, those skates you see are my pride & joy, a pair pro stock Bauer 1000s and no I did not get those from the Islanders sale, they were actually purchased at the pro shop at South Windsor arena (CT).
  22. Here's my haul from the the New York Islanders Pro Shop. Frans Nielson Warrior Franchises, RBK shell. (The helmet is actually from Worcester Sharks sale) Again, I can't say how helpful the guys at the Isles pro shop were, def recommend them.
  23. Drunken and immature neighbors who wake up the entire block and still don't stop even after the cops come. Forcing me to get out of bed and threaten vigilante justice to get it to stop.
