New Mission Helmet

Just wondering if anybody knows anything about the new Mission helmet that is coming out (the one Burt is wearing in Canadain training camp). I heard they are using some new Helmet industry materials and is going to fit really well (Personal opinion, I guess).

Same there was a topic about these a while ago try searching for it but it wasnt a long topic ( didnt cover the aspects of the helmet) I am also interested in the helmet but they ahvent hit stores yet sooo who knows

it looked like the itech helmet but w/a mission logo...but the interior padding must be different i guess...

I can recall someone mentioning that Mission was working on a new helmet a couple years ago but that rumor got shot down.

Nah its not a hc100! The mission helmet has got trianglular vent holes in the front and looks very different! I just got emailed a pic. How do I put up a pic that I have been emailed to me?

It looks a bit "slimmer" than the itech buckets, but Geeza's right - the vent arrangement does make it look quite similar - it'll be hard to differentiate on TV for sure.

It looks like a cross between an Itech and the old old school mission helmets that they first came out with back in the day.

Obviously pros will be in it this season, it may make it to retail late this year but it won't be widely available until spring. At least that's the most likely timetable.

Actually having some background on Itech products leads me to believe its a new front mold with a HC100 back. OR its a 100 front with different mold inserts. They like doing this kind of stuff. cough Gait Helmet cough

I have another idea of what it might be, but I'm not commenting on my 2nd guess until someone proves my 1st wrong.

The gait helmet is actually the itech helmet mold with alternate earpieces and extra plastic on the front.

WOW, Since as some people(you know who you are JR) claim that the Mission Helmet is not the Itech HC 100.

Those same people can explain to everyone how training camp hasn't started yet but they have all ready sized and converted 8 former Itech Players from one random team to Mission Helmets.

Before anyone tries to tell me that its possible, read the players names and tell me how they could have Geographically accomplished converting those players in the off season without sizing them for this "NEW" & "Different" helmet.

PS... if you look closely at the photo you see a blank Itech box with a Mission sticker on the front.

PSS... The Mission/Itech Pro Dept. forgot to ship the 3rd Jersey coloured helmets. LOL

JUST realized that this could also be a sign that they are beginning a a branding shift away from Itech???? Could be off base or could be a bulls-eye?? Time will tell

Actually, the Canucks' third jersey helmet is the same as their home helmet as they are not taking part in the NHL Vintage program this year.
