Vapor XXX Lite Woody OPS

Recommended Posts

this is one of those issues that can get put onto anything..why paint a car, its just a car etc...why add running lights. ground effects etc...window tint...spinners on a car that is 25 years old??

style is different for everyone...for me its a great stick with a traditional look...works for me...I would use a wood type XXX Lite over a neon green XXX white/black combo if the choice was there...

ya my store got a chance to see them as well today from our rep. The sticks look AMAZING, and the One90 stick is indeed a different stick for those of you who thought it was a XXX-Lite painted like a One90. They revamped their XXX-Lite to add more duarbility as well.

Any way to tell the improved durability XXX Lites from the current generation?

It's different in my mind though because painting a car or adding neon lights to the bottom or tinting the windows or adding spinners isn't to make it look like something it's not. 25 year old car though, maybe that does get to the principle of it a little bit. A better analogy I think would be painting a car to look like a carriage, complete with a painting of horses in front pulling the thing. And yes I am against the wood sticks painted to look like a OPS too. It would be like making a computer that looks like a notebook, 3-ring binder, file cabinet, VCR or desk. But it's not those things it has replaced: the function and the look of the object are separated to appear as if the new thing is the same as the way things were. It just doesn't make sense. But it appeals to a crowd. It will sell. It just doesn't make sense. That's why it's a close second funniest piece of hockey equipment I've come across.

The blade has the wood grain finish, too.

Flip12,

I have no problem with your thinking its ridiculous, to each his own. The one you don't buy somebody else will. NBH has already created what they want out of this product: Demand and buzz. Its only June 15 and this will not hit FLDs until November 1. Rumor has it there will be a t-shirt to follow: "Want to grab my Woody?"

Darkstar what are the colors they used for the stick? I want to make a photoshopped one so its as exact as can be.

How will this wood stick differ from the One60?

Its not wood, its composite. It just looks like a woodie.

Looks like the paintjob is working. ;)

WHBD, really good job on that photoshop job, impressive. Here's a question though...say you break your XXX Lit woody...will they warranty it with another, or just a regular OPS painted one?

It would look sick like this-

xxxlite5px.jpg

Almost anything is better than that puke MISSION CAMO stick. I think it would look good in a dark cherry wood.

I think the principle flip12 is talking about, in JimA's car scenario, would be taking an old Fiero and making it into a kit-car Lamborghini... or the other way around to be going from OPS to woodie.

There will be a Vapor XXX Lite OPS with a wood grain finish look to it from blade to butt end for Holiday '06. Seniors only, all three flexes, patterns PM9, P92, 106. It looks pretty neat. Sorry, I only saw a sample, no pix to share.

gee i remember making a post about this months ago
