KOR Shift 1 and 2

Recommended Posts

$479 sounds about right. Shift 1s were going for $449-$469 when they first came out...

I tried to keep the price reasonable, despite the fact that the Shift2's wholesale cost went up $45 more than the Shift1's. The skate is definately worth $500 or more and could easily sell in that range. I should have 2 more sold tomorrow, so the price isn't keeping people away.

When I get back in I can't wait to weigh it up against other models. It seemed pretty light to me, way lighter than the Shift1. I only got to look at it one minute before my nasty nurse (wife) forced me out of the store. :P

Ok, is there something special about these skates that allow them to be more adaptable to different shape foots than other skates?

What do they do to lock in your heel? I was about to pull the trigger on some Easton S11's (the Easton heel lock is incredible), but should I be looking at these? No one close to me deals in them, how would I go about checking these out?

I'm in a similar predicament. How do I find a dealer that carries the Shift 2? Today I talked to the three stores I usually deal with for my gear. All of them carried the original Shift 1. But they all said sales were not good for the Shift 1 so they are not going to be carrying the Shift 2s.

Now I guess I'll have to find somewhere that sells them and hope I get the correct size. I've never bought skates without trying them on first. But I don't think that's possible now. :(

Best thing to do is ask your LHS to carry them, or order a pair for you. If they hear it from enough customers, they would be more likely to stock them. New-er companies always have a tough time getting stores to carry their product.

Kor is not a skate to be bought online, the sizing is very different. If you can travel to a store that has them, that's gone to save you heartache. Plus the heatmolding needs to be done by someone who knows KORs.

well, there's the rub... I'm guessing I don't want to be the guinea pig on a pair of $500 skates while they learn.

Thanks for the advice. If I was to get my LHS to order me a pair, how would I know what size to get? Is the sizing for the Shift 2 the same as the original Shift 1s? If it is, then I could try on the Shift 1s in the store and find the correct size to order.

same sizing as shift1, so go for it.

Nice to hear that changed. The demo units at the show were a half size smaller but I know they had some changes planned for those units.

They still remind my of one thing: Stormtroopers.

I would still have considered them if my LHS had a pair when I was buying skates.

I am on page with TBLfan on the stormtroopers look. But the looks would improve with some black tuuks on them.

The video is nice. Will have the KOR´s in mind wenn its time fore new skates.

Chadd/Jimmy...Thanks for posting the pic!!!

To me they look the same as my Shift 1's (minus the blue color). They're supposed to be higher cut though, right?

Well, not in the market for new skates yet since mine are still in great shape. The only thing I don't like about my Shift 1's are the toe caps. They look like clown shoes...lol!!! Did they change that a little with the 2's?

Design is very similar to Shift 1. Visible differences on the outside of the boot: Carbon outsole has a shinier, smoother finish; Silver material is shinier; no blue; ankle is about 1/2" higher than Shift 1. Also, these blades are riveted onto the boot, so there is an insole on this model. Shift 2 is noticeably lighter; otherwise, the skates are quite similar.
