Best Player you've played with or against?

Recommended Posts

I practiced with Mikhail Grabovski and Matt D'Agostini of the Montreal Canadiens, and played in a couple alumni games with Ric Nattress, Mike Bullard, etc.

I've played ice and roller against Jerry Osterkamp. He's big in the roller circuit out here in California and he is a sick player.

his hands are unbelievable

I played in a exhibition hockey camp game with Andy Moog. Didn't get a shot on him though because there were a bunch of Jr.A monsters between he and 15 year old I. Tiger Williams taught one of our sessions during that camp and punched me in the head (pretty hard, knocked me down) after I chirped at him. I played on the same team as Jeff Sanderson in Bantam/Midget.

On the 7th of Feb my old beer league team is having 3 "friends of a friend" show up. One of our players'(friends/brother?) works in St. Louis for the NHLPA. Tyson Nash, Jim Campbell, and himself(ex-collegiate) are supposed to show up for fun.

Jason Spezza, best vision I have ever seen on a player. And strong as an ox. A real bastard to pin in a corner. Crosby used to play road hockey with my buddies and I when he was a kid. We were all playing Junior so we had ego's to protect so even though he was 10 or 11 we made him play in net. Unreal how that kid was between the pipes. Just a natural athlete. And we werent easy on him by any means either.

^lol.. he played ONE game as Brodeur's back up, then spent the rest of his seasons in the AHL, IHL, ECHL and in Europe.

but hey, he's made it to the show. so i can't sit here and criticize that.

.. i thought Tyson was playing in that new league in Asia.

Those were the names I was given. When the game happens I'll try to update maybe w/pics.

Used to shoot on Byron Dafoe, Andrew Raycroft, and Felix Potvin in a goalie camp. Skated with some former Bruins a couple times (Samsanov, and Carter to name a couple). Have a couple buddies that will probably be drafted next year (one was suppose to go 4th round this year to Atlanta or Carolina). Have a cousin who played against Crosby in juniors.

Sure no one knows him, but Bryson Harley. Coming from Kentucky, dude is ridiculous to most here. I played pickup with him, and you could tell he was hardly trying, but he could snipe top shelf from center ice easy. Fastest player out there, great hands, passes, and by far the smartest. Learned a lot by playing with him. I ended up scoring 13 goals that game, quite a few because of him. I think he played up in Michigan somewhere but I'm not sure.

Update: Obviously Nash is not coming. Jim Campbell is a definite, Scott Mellanby is 50/50, but Tony Twist is coming also. 2 weeks from tonight, plus we're supposed to go out after the game w/them. I'll keep you updated.

Played against Steven Stamkos (projected 2008 1'st overal pick) a few times in minor hockey. He was an unbelievable standout even in atom. I also had the chance to play with him at the OMHA under 17 program a couple years ago and he's even more impressive of a player when he's your teammate.

I really hope the Kings finish dead last so they can draft him with the 1st overall pick.....the kid looks amazing.
