No they definitely are staying with colours at home for this season however it's been rumoured that there is a plan to make the home jerseys the white one's again in the future. Personally I don't have a preference either way but i suppose if i really had to choose i'd go with whites at home just because I like the history of the league.

I had a thought though that the transition back to white home jerseys may be planned for sooner than we expect. Maybe it is a known fact to certain people that maybe in the 08-09 they will change back. This could be a good explanation of Dallas' new "home" jersey. It would make far more sense to have the town name on the away jersey. Maybe Star's management knows of future plans and decided to design their new jerseys on the basis that this will happen sooner rather than later. Just a thought. Anyone agree?

And thats how most teams do it. My highschool has had scripted jerseys for the past few years and the whites say "eagles" while the roads say "Apple Valley" along with pretty much any other school in the state.

When I first saw dallas' "home" I thought it was stupid because of that exact reason.

Home whites were scrapped because most, if not all, teams will have dark third jerseys next year. By bringing back the dark thirds they would have to switch back to home dark jerseys next season. Rather than scrap the dark thirds, they don't care if every game is white vs the home team color.

In the end it's all about $$$ and they expect the thirds to keep making money for them without any real improvement in the game (or improvement in the jerseys for that matter).

I sure hope Orig 6 don't. Unless they go with a throwback look. (Maybe throwback to LAST YEAR?)

Watching Detroit tonight in their home reds. Doesn't look too different, in fact with players wearing a size up, their sleeves are still loose and the jersey isn't snug like all of the damned concept and debut pictures.

Well, they looked the same until.. the players got wet. The Play-Dri areas became a darker red, accenting the horrible armpit/shoulder cut. The entire back except the shoulder cut also turned a darker red, showing how much idiotic stitching there is - namely having the RBK logo between the shoulders on a completely different square of fabric that doesn't flow with the shoulder cut.

The Wild's neck is gold as the tightest color and it blends with guys not wearing undershirts making the collar look HUGE and poorly done.

I anticipate mid-season redesigns for some teams.

The caps white jerseys looked terrible in action and I'm not even going to start on the Leafs.

I like the caps white, its the reds that haven't grown on me yet.

Speaking of red...If anyone plans on going to caps training camp next thursday, wear red, you will get a free ticket to the preseason game on the 29th.

The Leafs home jersey is just brutal. I think the whole package would have looked better if they even stuck with the simple theme for the socks, but between the ultra boring jersey and the lots of stripes on the sock, it just looks bush league.

Someone in the Leafs organization just needs to confess it: They just ordered a huge batch of practice jerseys by accident, and that isn't the real design. I know they thought if they just got everyone to wear a size too small, we wouldn't notice, but it simply didn't work.

After watching my first night of NHL hockey (where the picture was good enough to actually watch the game) I have to say the new jerseys look like total garbage. Some are worse then others design wise (poor Colorado) but across the board the players look like gut stuffed sausages. John Dellapena of the NY Daily News mentioned the Rangers have received much larger sizes already and I wonder if the rest of the league will follow suit. Or maybe the much larger sizes was what I saw last night... either way its hurl city.

You can really tell who is wearing the "correct" size and who went up.

Everyone looks like they have stick arms when they're wearing thin shoulder pads. It's disgusting to see the shinpad logo through the socksand have players wear spandex jerseys.

After tugging/fights the neck area just gets destroyed and the jersey is gone. The old ones still looked usable, just a bit loose around the neck.

They don't even fit goalies.

On VS last night they mentioned some players were complaining because the new jerseys were retaining too much body heat. Evidently they don't breathe as well as the older jerseys.

i guess rbk forgot to test a few "minor" things before production. But I bet the over heating players with soaked gloves and skates really appreciate the sleek look and reduced wind resistance.

We'll all be on the edge of our seats for the speed skating portion of the All-Star events. No longer are big guys handicapped by their large surface drag.

I hope they get out of these things by the trade deadline.

Gartner might still be able to turn a sub-13 lap in these new jerseys.

Is it me or are the numbers a lot smaller too? I was having trouble reading the numbers on the Rangers jerseys during the game this evening even watching in HD. The HDNET announcers weren't doing much better.

The jerseys look terrible on regular broadcast TV. Pinstriping disappears and colors run together.

The games on center ice are so dark for me. I had to screw with the settings on my TV to the point where everything is washed out on other channels.
