chef_ducky 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 What is the most refreshing post game beer??Does it really matter or is just the fact that there is just beer there to drink
Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 I go one of two directions.....either a light pilsner, or a dark amber with a malt finish.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 I can't do draft. Might as well hit me in the head with a brick. Draft gives me AWFUL headaches the next day...and I'm not talkign abotu have 6-7...I mean 1 or 2...and I'm a wreck the next morning.I usually have a bottle (or 3) or Coors Light. But (as JR will atest too) Canadian Coors Light and US Coors Light are 2 different things.
topshelf11 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 We usually have a contest to see who can bring obscure crappy beer. I think the best bang for the buck is Hamm's. Tasty, refreshing, and cheap. The Beast, Stones, and PBR are other locker room staples.

Tasty, refreshing, and cheap. The Beast, Stones, and PBR are other locker room staples. In the room...we've adopted the rotating beer schedule. Every week someone has to bring beer (Usually 32). Some guys go big (Stella, etc...) others bring dicount local brewery stuff. My turn was the week of the MSH skate, so I got 48 cans of Bud Light at Duty Free for $30. We charge $2 a beer and the guy that brought gets to keep his profits. So, I made out pretty good in my week. We have a big green canvas duffle bag with a cooler bag stuffed inside...that makes the rotation from guy to guy/week to week. Also, the guy that runs the skate is pretty good about making sure we have 20 guys...so if you say you are coming and then don't show up you have to bring beer the next week adn everyone drinks free on you. Clark12 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 We would usually have some Carlsberg, although I'm quite fond of a few tins of Magners cider after a game... its very refreshing.
ramensandwich 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 +1 for coors light.around here 32oz cans of icehouse are a dollar and some change. 2 or 3 of them usually does the trick.
TCsnipes9 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Although I dont drink, my team seems to be on a Fat Tire kick lately. We were out in Colorado a month or so ago, and toured the New Belgium brewery, and they all seem to love that stuff.
bdj 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Up north where we have real beer, I like to keep it simple with Budwiser or Lucky Lager.

Tasty, refreshing, and cheap. The Beast, Stones, and PBR are other locker room staples.I do the same thing for my guys. I bring the mystery beer. Roger brings the cooler with Coors Light and Genny Cream Ales(aka Genny Screamers). That is usually 2 30 packs. I bring the cheapo 12 pack of PBR, Piels, Schmidt, Schaefer, or, this week's winner, Carling Black Label. I try to find the off the wall beers at the discount stores. We also bring in post game snacks, pretzels and popcorn. We almost spend as much time in the room after the game as we do playing.BTW, we always use Zam ice to pack the cooler. bbruins8 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Like...wtf? No Labatt's? I love me cold Labatt's after a skate...hard to come by down here, but I buy it whenever I see it at the store...of course it's not the same as the Canadian Labatt's...the imported shit is the bottom of the barrel. Aussie Joe 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Most guys around here will sink a Victoria Bitter (VB) although the Amsterdam brew from Aldi is great bang for buck. When we win a champ or tourny its chip in time and we get an Esky full of Lowenbrau. My German influence is showing on the team ;)

Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 When I come back to the room, I'm usually thirstier than Lindsay Lohan on New Year's. So I like a light, chuggable type of brew. I like Coors Light or Miller Lite. I like Sam Adams, but it's not really a post-hockey kind of brew.

flyerman 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 We also do the rotation thing. The guys that don't care bring Bud, Miller, Coors. The in-between guys bring Labatts Blue, Moosehead, Heineken. The beer connoisseurs like me and a couple others bring the micros and good imports: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Sam Adams, Fat Tire, Boulevard, Coopers (Australia), Harp, Left Hand, etc -- it's usually lagers and light ales for the room. But a couple months ago my buddy brought in two gallon glass jugs from his favorite brew pub in....KC I believe. One was a coffee stout and the other a spiced, smoked porter. The smoked stuff was freakin nasty and made me want to puke; the coffee stuff kept me up all night...even after playing two games. Good times.

Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 I think as a joke I'll bring some wine spritzers and toss those around the room like, "Great game, guys Here you go! Drink up!" then wait for the bottles to come hurtling back at me.
