how much did you size down for your skates?

Recommended Posts

I really think some of you guys are wearing the wrong shoe size, come on 2 or even 3 sizes bigger than the skate, that's way to big imho. I don't know about you but on my skate's box there are the sizes in EU, US and CAN. So i usually wear a 9,5 or 10 (depending on brand) in snickers which is 43 - 43,1/3 and a size 8.5 in my NBH Flexlites and they fit perfect. Just so you know, in EU the skates are 44, which is the best since i wear them with a thick sock. Anyhow, the snickers can losen overtime and a snug fit at first will always losen, you will see they'll fit better. I used to like my snickers really loose, but now, as snug as they can come, molded on my foot is the best way, IMHO

Not necessarily, I like to get my skates as small as I can. I wear mine small enough that its almost painful.. as long as they are deep enough I can cram my toes in with no problem but thats just my pp

Why is this still here?

I think it's been proven in the first 2 pages that there's a general trend but people's foot and fit preferences dictate wearing shoes and skates that aren't a match for length.

Unless we want to catalog the entire board's shoe and skate size this is pretty pointless.

So I am buying skates for the first time in four years and I need a little advice. I wore a size D in the supreme line. I am wondering if I can get away with wearing an EE in the new Vapor line? I only ask because I tried on a D and it felt like it would be too tight, even if I chose to bake it. But I dont know how much wider the heel would be in a EE. Breaking in my supremes was a biznitch though....lots of punching out and all of that fun stuff. So would you guys think I was making a good decision in going from a size 10D in a 7000 to a size 10EE in vapors?

Any help would be great. Like I said, I already tried the Ds on and they felt kind of tighter than I remembered my 7000s fitting out of the box (but my 7000 NOW fit like a dream). Also, I skate without socks. My local hockey shop didnt have the 10EE so I need a little help so I can purchase online.

Thanks everyone!

I wear a 91/2 street shoe. I wear a size 8 in an Easton or Vapor skate. I can go down to a 71/2 in a CCM or Reebok.

I have about a size 5 length but haven't been able to find something wide enough or deep enough in that length.

Have you tried the Supreme70s? Graf offers some shorter boots in models that are very deep. Might be worth a try.

I just bought last years vector line in a 7.5D and I'm a 9/9 and a halfish, haven't had a skate yet as I just got them baked about 2 nights ago, but I'm wondering if a 7 was a better choice, not sure... I am not touching the top of my skates, so not quite sure if that's a good or bad thing, I haven't really skated in about 8 years, so... We'll see how it goes I suppose.
