Nike/Bauer Supreme ONE95 Initial Thoughts

Recommended Posts

Custom order went in yesterday. June can't come fast enough!

Sorry for the derail, but since you're in DFW, where'd you get them from? I'm having a hell of a time finding anyone to care enough to do it for me.

Go see Van at Blue Line Ice Arena in North Richland Hills. The only other person I'd let measure me.

Do all Bauer custom orders take that long? (3+ months) Or is it only because it's the One95's?

So how much are those going to set you back, if you don't mind me asking?

Since the one95's a new skate, nhl players will get priority on the first custom makes, then we come second and this will take us into June sometime. Im not sure if you wanted custom XXXX's if it would take just as long however, it would make sense to think that since they have a push for a new skate everything would get held back not just the new model.

I believe it was mentioned before (possibly in the other one95 thread) that due to the up-comming playoffs that custom skates to the general public will be a longer lead time because of the pros getting priority.

+1 on the update, that would be great.

Also, JR, curious about the depth of the boot compared to Vapor skates? Little deeper, shallower or about the same? In Vapors now and dont get any lace bite at all, just curious how close in depth the One95's are?

Thanks

Steve

It's about 8090 depth, which was more than Vapor.

Feels much better than ONE90. Will give it a go more this wknd and next week. Haven't gotten out on the ice much. I'm also doing the ThermaBlade experiment.

Yeah, I think you said before that these skates have more volume to them..and you definitely were right. They're very comfortable along with the new CCM Vectors. Bauer and CCM are really putting out some nice skates for the 2008-2009 retail season. Does CCM have a standard customizing fee like NBH? I think NikeBauer was $50-60..I'm just curious.

are you going to put the therma blades on the one95s?

NBH is a flat price for a custom skate, regardless of boot. I just take that cost and subtract it from the skate cost and call it that.

That is pretty good service. Maybe you should hold some clinics on "how to sell and take care of your customers" to more LHS in the country.

Yes, they can ship them with holders unassembled. In Drew's custom order, he wants to go with PITCH3 on them, and since C+ has the same drill pattern, not to mention that you need a really clean drill bit to drill through the new insole (NBH changed drillbits and upped the RPM on their drills) I'll just remove and put PITCH3 on them when they ship to me.

like would they ship custom with holes drilled for a roller chassis? say like for sprungs

Yeah, I'm sure they have Sprungs in the NBH Proshop...

Guys, this is Peter's thread. THere is a HUGE thread on ONE95 skates already, direct your questions there.

what type of warranty do get if they ship them with no holders

JR

...Another fit question.

I've alway fit well into the Supreme line. I tried on the 90's and the 70's 2 years ago and went with the 70's because of fit.

IYO Will the 95 fit me?

Andrew

Why don't you just wait and try the One95's on?

Hey JR, Question.

I had custom XXXX's made, and they have what I assume is a serial number that was assigned to my particular order. Will I be able to simply order a pair of custom one95's if I wanted to, and use that number for them to refer back to as far as specs? Not looking right now, as my Vapor's are wonderful, just wondering.

They also have sizes inside

(Left) 9 DA

(Right) 8 3/4 DA

Thanks!

Shawn

I've moved onto the long-term version.

I'm feeling exactly what DS50 is feeling - the energy return is just awesome. Imagine a S15 without the clunkiness (good skate, but there is a difference that I am now feeling).. It totally skates differently than the ONE90, that is for sure. And the 90 was no slouch.

I've got two issues - the right skate needs to open up a little more. The heel isn't developed yet - I laced up in the room then walked onto the ice. Foot was up on the toecap. Once I relaced and kicked back further it got better, but not where I need it to be.

I also think I'm going to move up to 296 on these - I got 288s (not sure why, but I have a hunch) and there's plenty of room on the heel and toe. Not sure if I'll do 2.1 or PITCH. I'm not minding 2.1 at all so no agenda there.

Skating them with one eyelet undone, tongues out. Much better forward flexion that way.
