"Successor" to the XN10?

Recommended Posts

$190 is about $90 more than I would be willing to pay. I picked up a couple of the originals and ended up selling them. They were good but not great. In my honest opinion, the one90 bashes it overall. So did my 7k pro-lite.

Great shaft, great balance, but I didn't like the blade on the original. It was too pingy for me.

I hated the blade at first, but the feel is better than the new ones for me. TPS has focused on durability at the cost of feel in my opinion. I loved the original response baldes but the durability was not good at all.

I think what JR was trying to say was that was the original XN10, before any graphics, from 2003-04, NOT the current one.

Was that one of the ones from the Loomis plant up in NorCal?

I liked my Cali sticks more than my Canadian sticks

Does anyone have one that they've used a couple games so they can compare it to the original? The first one underwhelmed me after hearing so much in advance. It was objectively quite good but nothing could've lived up to that level of esteem.

Whats the diff between my TPS Response2 Armor shaft with XN10 carbon and my TPS XN10 100 flex pro stock 100? The 1st one is quite light but a tad whippy..The latter is made in Canada..Its an Alex Henry pro stock with his name and #36 on it..I've never put a blade on it though..100 flex

I had the retail Response Armour shaft (mainly yellow with red on the narrow top and bottom sides, also has XN10 in it) and those shafts sucked for me. They were very heavy and didn't kick like a R2 XN10 or even a Redlight XN10. I still use my R2 XN10's and haven't found a better tapered shaft.

Armour's were the replacement for the XN10 but as you stated, didn't live up to the legacy.

Yeah thats the one..it seems "newer" in design etc...Its okay I guess.. a bit whippy for me..Of course I got the whip shaft..Its fine for shooting around and such, but I need a 100 flex to really do anything..The XN10 pro stock ..I've yet to use it or put a blade in it.

i agree that they're ugly, but i don't really care about stick aesthetics. it's kind of funny though... as someone who has never used an XN10, i see people hype them up here constantly as the holy grail of sticks, and now that they're re-released, i see a bunch of complaints.

so has anyone actually got one of these yet??

I check HG pretty regularly for their weekly specials and I didn't see this until I got an email notice today. Shame no whip flex - otherwise I'd probably plunk down the change to see what it's all about.

She sure is ugly, I'd rather have it all black with chrome lettering. Don't really care, if they perform like the old ones. I'll have to swing by HG this weekend and see if they've got any in stock.

Yeeeah, they're a bit pricey ATM and I'm just not that good of a player AND they don't have a stiff flex. I'll wait until they're closer to $100. My old XN10 is still alive.

I'll have one in a RH Standard Nash probably around Wednesday. ;)

Any body know if the construction of this stick lends itself to making it into a two piece shaft and blade? Is this a true one piece or a glue job?

I break blades a lot faster than shafts.

You have to heat the piss out of them, but you can pull the blades.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. That stick looks pretty kick ass to me. That look and the way people rave about it... I think we have winner here folks.

Furthermore, I think it looks cool. The chrome is a great finish and the black trim is just perfect. Not a big mix of colors; the way a chrome stick should look IMHO.

I agree 100%. Hot yet simple look. Less is more.

They say:Produces a blade that is 30x more durable than the first graphite blade that they produced in 2000. In addition, the toe and the entire blade perimeter have been reinforced more than ever before.

So is the blade made of the same amorphous carbon material or is it something different?

Will this come in a GRIP model as well?
