Fade to White

I just bought the newest edition of The Hockey News (July 29, 08 / Vol 62. No. 01), and I came across a very intriguing Easton Ad. It was mostly white and has the phrase "Fade to White" in the middle, with the bottom saying "ChooSE16 Fall 2008". To me it suggests Easton will be offering the SE16 in a white version. Does anybody know about this or have more details?

There are White Easton pics floating around somewhere (I thought I saw them here). I KNOW I saw them on Facebook ("Proclaimed Hockey Equipment Whore" Group). Don't remember what model it was or the story of the person who had them.

I saw the ad too, and I was wondering what it was. i know Easton has white out version of the s15 but I haven't heard anything about the SE16.

Would you have gone with something else? Easton's trying to get a better market share in skates, white skates do sell... Were they tossing around silver or blackout options as well or something?

IIRC JR was asked by Easton if a white Easton skate would sell and he said no.

White is not popular, only has a fringe following. Was talking to the rep yesterday about the "October Surprise" whites. I don't plan on stocking them, if someone wants one, I'll order it.

All black really appeals to all. The one95, the 9k, those skates look nice. I sell 9k's like crazy. I had just 1 request for the 9k white. I don't understand why a manufacturer would produce a line of skates that really doesn't appeal to the masses.

The online stores have all the 9K white skates that didn't sell at retail!! I see them all the time in the shop for first time sharpenings. Like I didn't see that coming.............

I love how white skates look, but never like how RBK fits me. Now that Easton is thinking about making them, I might actually be able to get a pair!!

I saw some eastons in white yesterday at Source, they are the 999 and the 555? one pair was 499 and the other was around 299 or something.

Easton SMU's. Same construction as the S11 and the S7, I believe.

Thanks Gee. I appreciate it. Those pics are pretty good, but there was one in particular that wasn't in that thread. I'll try to come up with it somewhere.

The pair was propped so you could see the side of one skate, and the back of the other. They were right next to each other, with a tan background.
