How is it that a 6'6" guy ends up with feet meant for a 6' guy. You know what they say about a guy with small feet.

I'm 6' an am half a size down from Chara (11.5).... My dad's 6'3 and wears 13EE skates. My neighbor in Detroit was 6'5 and had size 10 shoes... It just happens some times.

I wear a size 12 shoe and fit snugly into a 10D skate (One95). I used to use a 9.5 a couple years ago with my toes scrunched up at the end but I liked it that way. My toenails have never recovered though....lol.

Damn, I wonder what size shin pads Chara wears. You think he's riding on dubs?(20's)

I've seen 18" Jofas.

A 5'8" customer of ours was asking us what size shins he needed because he had just ordered 18" pro return shin pads online because "they were really cheap". "No kidding" my boss said, "You can cut off the end and get a pair of elbow pads too!"

I would imagine he uses 18". I have a guy here who is 6"7 and he uses 17"

Exactly, I'm only 6'3" and i wear size 12 grafs, so height doesnt necessarily correlate to skate size, especially with the varying preferrences on how much room you have in your skate,a s opposed to cramming your feet in. Also, 17" shinpads are a bitch to find

Size 13 shoe since 15 yrs old, i'm 6'2 and wear a 11.5 xxx, 11 one90, and 10.5 one95.

And yes, 17 inch shin pads are impossible to find. Same with pants that are long enough but not designed for someone with a 36+ inch waist.

I had 2 different pairs of pronger skates from the summer and they were both size 8's

He said the skate was a 10.5
That's it? Man, I figured they were bigger....

Pronger is a big man too...and I think he said he waers 10 or 10.5 on a NHLN piece last night.

8.5, his shoe size is probably what was mentioned.

I recall hearing a Red Wings announcer (Ken Daniels) reporting that Niklas Kronwall, 6', wears a 6.5 skate.

I'm not sure they're that small...

(The crowd's faces in the picture are hilarious, by the way).

Pair of his size 6 vapor 40's on ebay right now.

I'm 6'4" and wear an 11.5 skate (12 shoe), as I did ten years ago when I was 14. A guy I know is 6'5" and wears a size 9 shoe! It's weird, but it happens

I'm 6'3", wear an 11 dress shoe, 12 in all athletic shoes and have always worn a 9.0 in Bauer. I think Bauer "generally" recommends 1.5 size down from your dress shoe size which would be a 9.5 skate-- but on 9.0 my toes feather the toecap which is perfect.

Funny you guys are discussing this today...

Just last night, we had a meeting with our Bauer rep, and the topic of long shin pads came up. The owner asked our rep what the biggest shin pad available was, to which the answer is 18".

He (our owner) was actually considering bringing in a pair...

Luckily though, the Manager and I convinced him that it was a bad idea. The 17's aren't moving, the 18's sure as hell won't.
