"Medical personnel were attempting to revive him."

My, he might be dead. Let's hope he's alive before we start hoping for a speedy recovery.

he crashed into another teammate on a line change and collapsed on the bench a few moments later

Tell me the guy he ran into isn't going to have issues.

He apparently bumped into Jagr's elbow and that's what caused it to stop

Apparently it was Jagr (from what I've heard).

Heard the same thing. Said Jagr was in tears yelling "wake up Alexi".

Sad news, just a kid not even in the prime of his life.

Apparently the ambulance that is present during games had already left and had to be called back and there was some question as to whether the defibrillators at the rink were working properly.

Sources in Russia tell TSN that the ambulance that is normally at all games had already departed and had to be called back.

It is not clear exactly how long it took for Cherepanov to be transported from the rink to the hospital but one source in the arena told TSN it was "probably 15 or 20 minutes."

Also, there is some question as to whether defibrillators at the arena were in good working order.

Wow, I was watching Frozen in time on NHL network and I saw Alex Cheraponov died. I thought it was a joke. I can't believe it. My condolsnces go out to his family, the Rangers and all of his fans, including myself.

Maybe in a few days, when it's more proper we can get into it more, but I blame Russia.

Terribly sad, I wonder how this affects Jagr's career or possibly the end of it, it's scary to think of all the accidental things that can happen and cause horrible events.

it wasn't Jagr or anyone that collided with him....

he was on the bench and collapsed.....it wasn't as a result of any specific incident during the game...he had a heart attack on the bench
