hattrick74 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 saw it, that it was pretty good, there was a small let down in the story line which i wont go into detail (dont wana ruin the movie for anyone who hasnt seen it)
Gummer12 134 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 not a fan of the whole 3 part concept... Kinda wish it was all wrapped up in the first one. QoS was a bit over dramatic, and a few too many chase scenes. Needed more of the charm and wit and more SEX! Esp with the redhead ;) Also the beginning song with Jack White was lame. CapsFan 5 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 The action was good, but a bit hard to follow at times. More "mystery" than in most Bond films. Overall, I'd say it's worth seeing in the theatre.
Neal 41 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 I enjoyed it, it continues the shift of the Bond movies to a grittier theme with less humor and campiness. Not a great movie but solid.

mrusse01 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 It's much worse than Casino Royale. The action scenes are poorly directed, too spastic, and it gets to a point where things are too over-the-top. I know it's a 'Bond film', so you are supposed to expect 5-10 completely outrageous scenes in it, but what I liked about CR so much was that it didn't have many of those kind of dumb action scenes. Bond is also not nearly as funny or suave in this version, although Daniel Craig is still pretty awesome. I also wasn't really sold on the main villian. You don't want things to get back to the point where they are shooting lasers from the moon or whatever, but I think I need something a little more sinister than simply trying to extort a small time South American government for a somewhat nominal increase in a utilities contract. Overall though it's a rather enjoyable movie..worth seeing. But if you go in having just watched Casino Royale (like I had) I think you'll be disappointed. adam14 182 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 yea i agree, i was somewhat disappointed with it. didnt live up to the hype, the villain, as mrusse said was a touch to cliche, as was the story line in general, and as somebody above posted, wheres the sex? i was waiting to see either the red head or the latina :P
mack 44 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 I liked it, but will agree that it's not as good as Casino Royale. Craig is still the best Bond to me as he's the only one that's been close to being like the one from the Fleming novels. This is still in his early missions and he's very much learning on the job.As for the villain, it was only one of a few bad guys and the plot was more than just extorting money out of Bolivia. The people he worked with would be doing this to as many places as possible and Bolivia wasn't a stand alone instance of this. The action did seem choppy and though we're supposed to have a suspension of disbelief, Bond taking shots of all the people at the opera was just a bit much. mrusse01 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 Seemed to me like the director got a bit too pleased with himself. The whole opera scene was contrived, the action silenced out with opera music playing over it was laughable. Same thing with the opening foot chase spliced with the horse race. Just unnecessary. Also, any time you write in the main character of a movie randomly flying a 1940's (or early) era airplane, and then being chased by a fighter jet from the same era, and then jumping out of the plane with one chute for two people, and then....well, it's just a bad idea, I don't care if he IS James Bond. adam14 182 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 but your talking about the guy who fell off a cliff, managed to climb into a plane, and pull it airborne in Goldeneye!!!

It continues directly from the end of Casino Royale (give or take a few minutes). I mean, if you'd never seen CR I'm sure you'd kind of know what's going on pretty quick, but you probably won't really understand the storyline.
Rustpot 1 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 No love for Timothy Dalton? I liked his movies almost more than Moore. Coming from him it made Brosnan look like the ultimate spy in Goldeneye, too. It's just a shame Brosnan's films took a steady decline, Casino Royale and Goldeneye are my two favorite Bonds, I've yet to see QoS though.

Pretty good uplink on that cellphone too, it only took a few seconds to upload all those high res pictures.
