Good luck, you're probably about #734 on the list of people who want to buy one of his Kovy blades, haha.

Yeah I saw those Samsonovs, but by the time he answered my question about whether it was the same pattern code or not, they had all sold. I couldn't see in the picture and wanted to be sure. Oh well, I'll find one at some point.

#734 of the people that are always willing to spend big money on them too haha, worst thing he could say is no.

Im not sure if its exactly the same but it does look like the open face type that the other shop had a month or so ago. Man they basically all sold out that day too, i did grab on though.

A little bit of both. I've been using the AK OPS and Samsonov one95 a lot lately but the Afanasenkov in the R2XN10(that is beat up) is the one I've used the most. The other R2X10s are unused, just waiting to throw on the facepaint(the black tape on the lower portion of the shaft) on the sad day their comrade dies in action.

The SE and AK OPS are the same pattern and flex. The Dolos and the R2X10s are all the same curve as the pro-Kovalchuk but most are a higher lie(Afanasenkov). The Samsonov is the oddball of the group, with it being very open.

I don't really like the Samsonov all that much. The blade shape isn't ideal, the curve is too open and instead of the curve starting with a very small heel, into a toe curve... it's more drastic in the heel. The only reason I still use it is because I like the one95 stick.

I will be getting mine in a few weeks so ill have to see how i like it, i a little sketchy about the open face and didn't notice the heel from the pics. Curve just looked too good to pass up lol.

Thanks for posting that, I managed to get a curve on my si core that looks just about identical to that.

Takes some pics of it, im curious too see how it turned out. Compo or Wood?

I tried to bend some woods and they ended up looking more like the Prospal with a little bit more rounded kink.

I'm starting to get rather consistent with them. I can hit the crossbar on a regular basis... despite it not being exactly where I'm aiming.

I bend my own, being poor allows for creativity, though I would have no problem being rich.

If I'm using a tapered shaft I like a big hook on the toe, and standard shafts a little flatter

the one thing I've noticed is that if don't have that big hook on the toe my slappers tend to have less velocity with the tapered shafts, the feeling isn't pure so to speak, plus its nice being able to hit corners from inside the blue paint with little to no thinking or effort.

I will try and post some pics at some point in time.

I'm going to switch to forsberg curves (sports store near house has about 50 forsbergs at half off) because of the flatter lie and more heel curve I think it will do the trick without having the scythe like hook.

I may be get rid of my Samsonov's soon, having a hard time taming the curve. :)

I don't think you'll have a problem finding a buyer. I've got an extra on the way otherwise I'd probably buy it.

I've gotten used to it now, but the first shot I took with it almost went into the netting above the glass. The more I use it the more I like it.

Sorry to bring back and old topic, but I didn't feel like this deserved a new one.

Anyways, does anybody know for sure if the BauerID Samsonov curve is the same as the pro stock curve? I'd like to get 3 or 4 blades made from Christian, and I'd love to get away with sending them the specs for it instead of chopping off a perfectly good blade.

Its not.

My prostock Samsonov says its a 0002-22 pattern code, toe curve with an open face and rounded toe.

The BauerID Samsonov P02 is a heel curve with a square toe.

i have a samsonov vapor xx that i recieve from a friend (its snapped in half). the curve looked similar to a retail coffey from the last time i looked at it. all i remember is that its one huge hook.

one could also argue that samsonov has been trying to tame the curve for years now..
