Denver would make an interesting site for an outdoor game, no matter who they play. They could probably play at Coors field in order to avoid any potential conflict with the NFL as well.

Seems they would at least want to get about half the teams to play in a game before they start letting teams play in a second game. Of course, they could also do pittsburgh vs. washington for the next decade or so :(

An informative article in today's Boston Globe, explaining how the Winter Classic came to be.

Also, I've been checking the weather, since I've read the NHL would love to see a light dusting of snow, while rain could be problematic. Through yesterday afternoon, snow was on the agenda, but as of this morning the forecast has turned to rain. They've said they could push the game out a day, but they obviously would lose much of the marketing bonanza.

The Mrs. and myself were talking about this the other day. Coors would be a nice venue, but my skeptical side would guess Kroneke would want it at Dick's Sporting Goods Park (MLS stadium) in order to not allow anyone else in on the action.

I don't know it's capacity, and it wouldn't have the same atmosphere since it's out in ghetto Commerce City instead of Lodo.

Did Bauer do something like they did with Malkin and Kane, as in custom skates and sticks? I would guess it would be Lucic or Richards but I haven't seen anything on it yet.

Wow, used to love seeing these teams go at it when I was younger. Listened once to the Flyers win the cup on the radio. Pretty cool having JT sing the anthem, and the B2 flyover too!

The bird's eye cam on nhl.com is pretty cool, no announcers just game sounds.

I think boston's sweaters look great on TV, just wish I had high def. <_<

They really screwed up the flyover though.

A complaint I had the first two years was the chaotic nature of the area around the rink. It just seemed messy and haphazard. This year looks very put together and professional. They put some work into the production design of the field area.

Not a JT fan but it was one of the best versions I've ever heard. Not sure anything can top the time Branford Marsalis opened up a Celtic - Sixer game at the Spectrum.

I noticed that too, it seemed far more organized this year. Cool touch leaving the pitchers mound exposed behind the penalty boxes.
