Sounds right, it was just weird that when Abdelkader is in the NHL he's in all bauer, but when he went down he wore CCM and reebok.

Maybe he just doesn't care what gear he uses. Sounds odd, but maybe...

An Avery, Chelios that gets sent down, for example... wears what he wants. If it's someone not established in the NHL, he wears what the team gives him to wear.

correct me if I'm wrong but can't you wear a CCM helmet? Thought I saw Abdelkader in GR wearing one.

CCM is also fine. Unless it's changed in the last couple of years, helmet/gloves/pants just have to be some branch of The Hockey Company (because you used to see Jofa/Koho stuff sometimes too).

If the player is on a two-way contract, he has to wear Reebok when he comes back to the AHL.

It is sponsored by them, but there are a few who do use Easton or Warrior or Bauer sticks. Players MUST wear their gloves, pants, helmets, and 10ks come standard, skates can be whatever (so most are bauer). With sticks I think its if they are Reebok they are free, if they aren't player has to pay out of pocket. Not sure though. But easton/warrior/bauer sticks do exist in the AHL.

Your typical AHLer has to use Reebok / CCM sticks. There are 2 or 3? exceptions per team, plus established nhl'ers being sent down. Chicago Wolves can use whatever they want as they are not a part of the stick deal.

Thank god! The s19 with the s17 mask is so awkwardly weighted. Thanks for the heads up.

Where does it say anything about NHL gear? Its just sighting new gear, and the s19 cage is new gear. Although seeing it online wasnt really a sighting, ill give you that.

Ive also noticed that the ECHL is all RBK stuff, well reebok now. Ive seen a few CCM lids and sticks but mainly everybody is decked out in reebok. Noticed one time a player had bauer 4rolls with reebok on the cuff roll.

If this has been covered already I apologize, but for those that have been interested in the shot blocking guards that are popping up all over the NHL, apparently they are called Skate Fenders (mentioned by Emrick on NBC today).
