I saw a ton of that the last city I lived in...the rink where everyone played put in a mandatory face protection rule (minimum visor)...guys were coming with a broken piece of plastic screwed onto their helmet, no additional protection whatsoever...ridiculous

it was dremmeled just below the bottom screw, just above the top. Guy dropped the gloves 2x a game, after about 30 games it was cracking at the screws.

That would be awesome if they made that a rule for adult hockey... well, atleast it would be awesome if you worked/owned a shop. You'd sell more visors than you'd know what to do with. Totally guessing here but probably 90%? wear either cage or shield, that extra 10% if forced to wear one would drive up sells substantially. If you have 100 adult league players that go into your shop, and 10 do not have a shield, you'd sell an additional 600 dollars in shields, if you have 1000 adult league players, you'll sell an additional 6000 in shields. Maybe USA hockey needs to make this mandatory to play in any league :P

I've noticed Sid tilting the visor like that since just after the olympics. If you're gonna wear it like that just take it off IMO.

appears to be back to normal tonight

Our rink (separate owners than the shop) mandate full visor for all men's league games. Rentals need at least a full visor. Every few months we get a large rental with 10 guys coming in getting visors or facemasks which is nice. But trying to put on 10 visors in 15 minutes is sooooo much fun. Nothin like trying to get past 40 rusted screws.

Our rink pulled exactly that. Only thing was, everyone quit coming and the leagues dropped significantly.

For me I didnt care, but plenty took offense to being 18+ and having to be told what to wear outside of standard protective guidelines.

Speaking of visors what kind of visor is Colin white wearing in the njd vs. Phi game? That thing is huge

Probably the same thing Heatley is wearing. Although, it does look even bigger.

Colin White really only has one working eye. 2 years ago he had one of eyes busted during training camp by a deflected shot that rode up his stick into his face.

Not sure how many of you saw this last night, but Henrik Sedin got a new helmet attachment, courtesy of Anze Kopitar.

NO CALL? How do you not call a high stick on that???

Accidental and in a way where you just can't get called on it. Just like how if your stick hits someone's face on a shot's follow thru its a no call.

Actually, it is. At least under Canadian rules. (I know the NHL is different)

Been a while since I've seen that happen but...

The Luongo one where he caught his knob in his strap was really odd.

It was mentioned earlier that Dustin brown has Easton ear loops on his bauer helmet, but I just noticed drew doughty wears them as well. I think kopitar might have them as well but I'm not 100% sure. Must be a team thing lol.
