Unless this one was determined earlier as well and I missed it, here are some more pics of Zack Smith's mystery black skate.

*Zack Smith Picture*

Pretty sure the consensus was an unidentified CCM skate.

The outsole and the toe cap of the ones I've seen actually say U+ on them. Not that it means they will be U+, just giving the info I have.

"As a testament to the superiority of the 11K skates’ fit and performance, an impressive 49 NHL players made the switch to the 11K’s mid-season."

So, considering that MANY of those players had worn Reebok skates prior to the 11k coming out, does that mean that the fit of any Reebok skate prior to the 11k had what might be considered to be below average fit and performance if the "testament to the superiority of the 11K skates’ fit and performance" is that much better as claimed?

i like how 10ish of them are the poster boys lol

Anyone else notice that Quick's cat eye has a really strange middle bar?

Ignore the music, not my video.

Yeah, I like it. It always catches my eye when I watch them play on TV. That flat bar really reflects the light.

Hehe. Of all the ones I've seen convert, they were either in 9ks, U+ Pros, and then like 2 were in 60s. These skates still got nothing on 60s/one100s.

You would think the flat bar would end up reflecting light into his eyes or maybe just being more annoying than a rounded bar that wouldnt be a wide..

I noticed last night watching the Kings/Nucks that one of the Refs was in a re-branded Mission helmet. It has the new Bauer logo. Is it retail or just his older helmet w/ the new logo so he can still use it? It got me thinking, do they maintain their own gear or do one of the teams equipment managers help them, you know shields, broken parts, skate sharpening, blade / holder maintenance? Etc.

If they need something they'll go to the local team's eq manager and he'll hook them up. I believe nhl pays for their gear as well. If they don't, its not like it wouldn't be hard to get very cheap swag from some team. At the USHL level the refs/linesman can buy CCM/Reebok product at a team's cost (cheaper than retail), and they usually get their stuff sharpened or fixed with a team.

Mask (or at least the cage) is a sportmask. Not sure why but they construct their cages with a solid middle bar, possibly strength. Maybe someone with a little more goalie expertise can chime in.

His foot is still broken from what I have heard...and he has been wearing those clear skate protectors for added protection. I believe he is still wearing 40's. Here are a few more views:

Didn't notice this until now, but Brent Burns, who I believe signed an endorsement deal with Easton before this year, and was head to toe an Easton guy (well, except for Bauer skates), is now in an M11 helmet, Warrior gloves, Warrior stick, and Bauer skates. So the only Easton he's got anymore are his pants.
