Bauer Supreme TotalONE

also...if proshops run out of total ones...does bauer send them more? or do they not because the TO is like a LE skate. if the proshop doesnt have the skate can they call bauer to order a pair. for example if someone is a 7 and the proshop doesnt have it.....can bauer send a box of TO in a 7?

As of right now there is availability of skates in different sizes and widths. But as an LE skate, who knows how long that will last.

I was told by 3 different people at Bauer that the TO is in no way a Limited Edition Skate. They are producing them as we speak and will continue to stock them like any other high end model. The only Limited Edition Supreme will be the One100 LE.

Not sure if that jives with what others are hearing or not.

Why do so few players in the NHL wear TO's? Is it because players are relatively hesitant to change gear?? It just seems like with all the bells and whistles on the skate and being Bauer, that more guys would be wearing them. I'm in the market for a new pair of skates and my perceived hesitancy of the pros to change to the skate has me hesitant as well. Obviously price tag isnt an issue with NHL guys, what is it?

Some players just don't like to change skate models at all. Ex: Mike Grier was still in one90's last I saw. Quite a few are waiting until the off season to change skates. Now isn't the time to be breaking in new equipment. I'll bet we'll see more players in them when training camp opens next season.

Still having trouble with heel slip.

Did what Darkstar said and it helped a lot, but there is still some movement. Unfortunately with the second baking the skates opened up a lot.....they feel cavernous on my feet. I didn't time them, but I'm almost positive they left the (left) skate in for at least 4 minutes (maybe more). I was pissed. I even looked at the guy at the counter and asked him if there was a bell or something on the oven, and he said "I got ya bro", and went back to the customer he was with. When he did finally bring my skates he started to walk away, I had to ask him to come back and lace them (the manager had said before the shop should lace them so I dont pop an eyelet). He then cranked the holy living hell out of them.....I mean as tight as he possibly could. He did this on the left skate, which is the slightly smaller of my feet. The manager did the second skate, and he had it in and out in closer to 3 minutes, laced it up for me ( not too tight, not loose either), and then I sat for about 15. I purposely asked to have the skates done separately so I could work the heel pocket like DS50 recommended.

I'm not sure what to make of all that- I just know although the heel issue is better thanks to doing what DarkStar said (you can actually see the new shape of the heel pocket on the exterior of the boot) the skates just feel very big in the forefoot now, especially the left one.

Part of me thinks I should have gone with 8's now instead of 8.5, but my toes weren't just brushing the toe cap in those, they were curled over. Looking at my footbeds in the 8.5's it shows about 1/2" back from the edge.

I ordered some Superfeet Yellow's from Icewarehouse (great customer service btw).....we'll see if they help.

Sorry if you posted it earlier larr but what size shoe do you wea? I'm in a 10.5, the 8.5 TO seemed to be a better fit than the 9 but the guy at my LHS was stearing me towards the 9...I also couldnt believe what he did...I told him I had a little hot spot in my left skate, we got to talking for a second and he said hold on I'll be right back...came back with the left skate steaming hot from the oven and had me put it on, baked it with the inserts and all. I understand trying to help the customer but I think thats going too far.

It really pisses me off when I read these stories here about shop guys f'n up with their customer's skates in the fitting and baking process. It's unacceptable. Just my 2 cents and I'm serious.

curious how do you guys decide what insert to use?

I started with XS - felt nice, but I didn't really like the pressure on top of my feet + wanted to get deeper knee bend so I went with Stiff. Forward flex got easier which I liked, but the skate now "bottoms out" @ sharp angles sometimes while on the outside edge as if the boot isn't stiff enough (for me One95 never had this problem, but S15 did sometimes)

so what gives?!

re size - I was also torn between 8.5 & 9 (was perfect size 9 in One95, shoe size is 10.5-11 depending on width). Ended up going with 9 (the same as one95) & was initially thinking that the boot was a bit too wide in the forefoot. seems fine right now after a week or so, but was interesting experience to say the least...

For those working in shops, how have sales been so far? As for the skate, with the lowered top eyelet and reflex tongue I was amazed at just how much forward flex is there. As for the inserts, my thoughts are that the medium flex will be used for skate break in only, and most skaters will prefer the stiff or extra stiff insert.

Dismal

Talked to one LHS guy who told me they had to buy $26,000 worth of skates and he'd be surprised if they managed to sell 8 pairs in the first year.

I just know a rather large ECHL enforcer-type friend of mine just got his customs a week or so ago through his team, and even at a size 11 those skates feel like nothing. But the price is scary. Nice skates though.

Because NHL players don't buy into hype like the general public does. They understand a skate is not going to make you a better player. They know it is not going to make you faster or give you more energy in the third period because of the minimal difference in weight between the TO and the high end skates they are already wearing.

I was talking to the guy in my Lhs (who also has custom total ones and is going to hook me up with custom x 60's possibly :D ) and he cant keep the total ones on the shelf even at the $800 dollar price tag

Tried them on at the Total Hockey in Schaumburg. Was hoping the fit would be right for me but not deep enough. The guy there said they sold pretty well for the first week but since then, their stock has been sitting there.
