Rustpot 1 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 I think I'm going to get myself my concealed pistol license and a holster and gun belt when I get cash together in a month or two. Or a .357magnum revolver.no no no.....get a Glock Chambered in .40 cal......things a friggin tank my step dad ran his over with a truck in a mud-puddle then picked it up and fired it with no ill effects...lets see any revolver do that....XDsorry, im a gun nut ;)I shoot about 1000 rounds a month right now in IDPA at school. The only Glock I will own is a 34. I own a Sig 229 in .40 and 357Sig and a 220 in 9mm. I want the revolver to compete in stock service revolver class. More specifically a 4" blued model with adjustable rear sight and some sort of bead front. I'll most likely try to find a deal on a used gun, no rush really as I probably could afford a $400 gun but no ammo right now.And besides, the unsupported chamber and frame imbalance issues with Glocks chambered in .40 would keep me away even if I did like the way they shot. If I get a striker gun it would be an M&P, but they need trigger work IMO to get the stacking and reset more to my liking. If I move to custom defense class it will be with a Sig 220 SAO (carry models have extraction issues) as I'm not a fan of the 1911 platform. To say I'm a pistol nut is to put it lightly. ;)
tt350z 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 I'm not a fan of the 1911 platform. To say I'm a pistol nut is to put it lightly. ;) :o How is that possible..?!?! Any reason why?I'm a die hard 1911/2011 user. B) The M&P would also be my choice for a striker fire polymer pistol. I can't stand the grip angle and fatness of the glocks. Jarick 5 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 I got:A set of Waterford crystal tumblers, good heavy duty ones.Orange Crocs (inside joke from Always Sunny).A pair of oven mitts.Target gift cards (we're moving and need housewares). It was my son's first Christmas, so he got an entire truck load of toys and clothes. And my finacee and I got a handheld camcorder that I fully intend to use for videotaping myself taking shots and maybe playing the drums.Oh yeah, and got the keys to the apartment so finally no more shacking up with the folks (ugh). And I sold my Macbook and got a 20" iMac...holy crap that thing is sweet. That was out of pocket though. And I love Christmas...I can't explain why. Everybody gets a little happier for a while and I get several days off work and an excuse to start drinking in the afternoon!

adam14 182 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 I honestly dont see why everybody gets such a hug boner over macs. overrated technology in my opinion.
sitzlejd 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 I have to admit I don't have a ton of mac experience. I did use Final Cut Pro to do some editing in college, and thought it was pretty cool. That said, I use a pc to do video editing in my current job (Sony Vegas) and I don't find any lack of technology or capability in my current setup. I tend to agree that macs are somewhat overhyped and not worth the extra cost.

Jarick 5 Report post Posted December 30, 2009 $850 for a 20" LCD glossy widescreen, 2.66 GHz core 2 duo, 2 gigs memory, 320 gb hard drive, 256 mb nvidia graphics card, integrated wifi and bluetooth, OSX Snow Leopard (with Time Machine backup), iLife...doesn't seem overpriced to me.I spent a few years working at Geek Squad and fixed thousands of PC's...saw one Mac that needed a memory upgrade. Switched to OSX and won't go back.

Fit your hands? You must have HUGE hands as the MK23 MOD 0 is one of the biggest and fattest hand guns out there... The size of the gun as well as the guns overall gurth was is one of the big issues USSOCOM bitched about...
